Just spent the most incredible with Workshops in Yorkshire learning from the incredible Alex Venezia. The workshops are run by Symi and Joe who work tirelessly behind the scenes to find the very best artists and create the most memorable week. Every tiny detail is thought of and catered for; from the venue and models right through to the catering (there's even a bar and a michael harding supplies shop on site). I was made to feel so relaxed that I could focus just on learning for the week. It felt like home from home. The wonderful Rosemary herself even cooked us all dinner and showed how she handmakes her brushes. Biggest recommendation I can say is I have already re-booked on to another course for next year with them!

Workshops in Yorkshire are raising the bar on how an art workshop should be organized. I was thoroughly impressed by the warm welcome, fantastic workshop space, and overall exceptional execution. Symi and Joe have created a working environment that truly supports creativity and learning. The adjacent room is a space filled with inspiration - a cozy oasis showcasing the masterpieces of living artists, complete with an awesome complimentary refreshment bar. It's clear they've thought of every detail to elevate the experience.

Dear Symi and Joe, you two are such an inspiration. Thank you for bringing in a painter of the highest caliber, Alex Venezia, to teach and help us develop our skills. Providing access to this world-class instruction, coupled with the beautifully curated spaces, has been transformative.

I sincerely hope we have the opportunity to come together again soon. This experience has left an indelible mark.

With heartfelt gratitude and big bear hugs,
Nik Anikis

I honestly didn’t know what to expect from my first workshop in Yorkshire, hosted by Symi and Joe and under the instruction of Susan Lyon and Scott Burdick. Prior to the workshop I had purchased two live-stream videos which were excellent, so I thought I would give it a go. Well... this is what you can expect :

A very professional organisation, from the studio management to the evening entertainment, no detail is left to chance. Susan and Scott are very generous and knowledgeable teachers. No doubt that Symi has a flair to find the right artists for their workshops.
If you can get an accommodation at the Rosemary's B&B, that’s the cherry on the cake. Her hospitality and the breathtaking scenery on the Yorkshire countryside are enchanting.

During the week all the lunches are taken together, so you can get to know everyone. You will get true connections with other fellow artists coming from all other the world, and you will also learn from them, so be open minded and ready for new friendships.

Most importantly, be ready for a painting shock : because you will improve and learn so much in 5 days and there is so much information to gather that you might find quite frustrating to have to leave at the end of the week. I can tell you that when I packed my brushes on the Friday evening, my main thought was : I’ll have to come back.

If you are considering attending a Workshop in Yorkshire and little gremlins keep chatting to you. My advice would be to pass them by and do it! Being exposed to the skill, knowledge and experiences of such extraordinarily talented artist/painters as we were in the recent Alex Venezia workshop is like reading 100+ art books. Enjoying and living each one and ending wanting to paint another!
And the bonus. Well that’s the secret for you to discover.

Wow, what a great opportunity to learn from and incredible artist. Workshops in Yorkshire provided a thoughtful platform to engage with Jeremy Lipking. Although it was zoom, and on the other side of the globe, it felt like an intimate learning experience.

The video and audio quality as perfect, as well the casual ability to ask questions throughout the demo. I chose to paint while I watched, but you could easily just watch and paint later.

I will absolutely sign up for another virtual workshop. Well done!

I rented this fabulous venue from Workshops in Yorkshire to teach my own course, and I have since booked again for future workshops. Symi and Joe, the hosts, were fantastic. The space was perfect for my needs - a well lit studio large enough to comfortably teach up to 15 students & a brilliant, well equipped lounge/kitchen area to accommodate lunches and coffee time. There's much more I could say but simply it's everything you need, as a tutor - best studio space I've taught in so far!

I spent an incredible week taking a workshop taught by Shane Wolf at Workshops in Yorkshire. Everything was superlative. Symi and Joe organized everything perfectly ensuring we could all focus on our workshop learning. Shane's teaching was inspiring and I learned a bunch I can apply immediately. The workshop site was comfortable and had everything needed to focus on learning (and Yorkshire itself was a beautiful backdrop). The models were excellent as well. All in all an incredible experience. Highly recommended.
