The facilities at Drove Road Child and Adolescent Service are extremely poor, given the cohort that this centre provides treatment to.

Not only is there no Changing Places facility for personal hygiene, there is no hoist available for physically disabled children and young people to access the scales for being weighed.

Each time we arrive, prior to seeing the paediatrician, I am asked if I can lift my son onto the seat scales. This is impossible, as my son is now a 14 year old. No one should be required to carry out a single person lift, or even a two person lift, on someone who is way beyond the safe weight for manual handling. In any case, my son is unable to sit on a seat scale without considerable support.
Consequently, my son, and presumably all other physically disabled children and young people in the same situation, are unable to be weighed. This has implications, when a correct weight is required for the medical staff to calculate the dosage of drugs, etc.
Please provide hoist scales so that no young person is put at a disadvantage and discriminated against due to their protected status. Equalities Act 2010
