The Shroppie Fly is a very popular pub, both with the Boaters and locals. The foods varied as is the beer. ( Even Swordfish Steak was on the menu.) All very good, tasty and satisfying. Dogs, Boaters and walkers are welcomed.

An authentic, historic canalside public house set in the most beautiful unspoiled surroundings of the sleepy Staffordshire village of Audlem. The facilities are what one would expect; the staff are welcoming, and the food is the tastiest I have eaten in a long time. You can eat outside if you wish, as you watch the canal narrow boats pass through the adjacent chain of locks, or tie up, to enable their crew to purchase supplies or top up their water tanks. Of course, as you might expect, the pub can be very, very busy at popular times of the year

Friendly staff made our visit enjoyable and encouraged us to stay a while longer. The kitchen wasn’t open during our visit but I believe it will be opening in the coming weeks.
Lovely location on the canal to Gongoozle on a sunny day.
