PICU- Service is extremely poor & will take this further
Haven't been there for a while, since October, and arrived in ambulance in March.
Staff are unwelcoming, if they see you there a lot they will make you feel like it's your fault for being there, especially when they say "you know how it works, let's get on with it, you need to fix your own problems, your not doing enough.

Informed manager of my concerns. I was the only one in PICU, to find the staff were discussing my recent physical assault with colleagues via see-through door, hearing them laughing, finding it funny that I was recently assaulted, they were like "she says she hasn't been here in two years haha..." Very heartbreaking to hear.

On a rare opportunity there are some staff who will sit down and talk to you when you're feeling low. To those staff who care, thank you for your life changing advice. Mostly staff tend to hide in their office and your just left talking to other patients for company.

It feels like a punishment to be sent there, not help

Told PICU staff Infront of nurse, never going to call for help again, or crisis team as they have traumatized me, if I'm going to end it I won't be calling crisis team. The staff's response to this was "we'll pay for your taxi then"
Staff don't care about your wellbeing and make little difference for your mental health.

It's 25% percent chance of getting help
75% chance of no help

Will take my concerns further.

this place needs shutting down. it’s not fit to run. admitted from hospital with third attempted suicide, drugged up so much he couldnt walk straight. no psychologist there, no activity coordinator. psychiatrist on annual leave and junior doctor can’t do anything.said they won’t discharge him without a gradual plan to ease back into society, but then suddenly discharged cause they need the bed. no home, no help with finding a home, just funding for week in hotel to cover there back to say they haven’t discharged ‘technically’ with no where to go. if you haven’t do the doctors to help people get better it should be open. the only good thing is that in the two weeks he was there he could t harm himself. no help to actually help him cope with life though except drugs that knock him out. will officially be complaining in hopes this place gets shut down until they have enough staff to run it. may as well be no hospital if they do t have the doctors.

Apsolutely appalling!! If I could give it a 0 rating I would!! A failure to people I would call it!! Got put on S2 at Pen Hospital brilliant experience there as soon as I come to the oleaster they say we won't admit you as your autistic and leave you without any support not even Crisis Team support...... A load of jokes I would say staff in 136 Suite would really wonder how on earth did they get their jobs!! Won't be the end of hearing regards to this left me with something I could use to harm myself last time and this time failed me and others!! Honestly I am starting to wonder do you have to be gone to get support from this place? Not the last you'll hear off me..... As this is not on and a investigation needs to been done into this as a matter of urgency and how they actually work.

Started off ok with the Home Treatment Team, but then because I couldn't take the tablets they gave me, told me nothing they could do so discharged me, told me to use the phone numbers if I needed to, but what's the point of a crisis phone number if when you use it no-one calls you back, rang them twice but no call back, waste of time

Claire Pearson is a manager at this site. May we know how professional it is to laugh when a client has expressed there concern's the service provided.. Not providing family's correct information or correct numbers. When facing a crisis. How many more years due patients that mentel health is poorly managed by a shame service provider.

My daughter was referred here following a referral from the QE hospital. I have nothing but total praise for every member of staff. It has been a very dark and truly worrying time for us. The staff are truly angels. Visiting us at weekends and throughout the week
They are absolutely amazing
I would like to thank everyone who helped get my daughter back to health. Your help has
Been invaluable and I feel like I've won the lottery to have my daughter back to relatively herself again. She is not far off herself
Anyone who comes here must rake on board any advice or meds given if you want to get better. Thank you so much you are all wonderful ❤️

The doctor continually disrespects and undermines, dangerously so, severe sleep deprivation and ending with suggestions of setting alarms (Which would exacerbate severe sleep struggles and go against Home Treatment Team's own stress of focusing on basic needs.) and comments such as "there is always a way." You try functioning on less than four hours sleep, poor quality sleep, night after night. I have gone to bed earlier, removed myself from stimuli and sacrificed much only to be looked down upon for struggling to attend an online group because of my severe issues. Complete nonsense and a dangerous one at that.

The two times I have been here on a 136 24 hour hold and I can honestly say that it is disappointing, the staff are rude and have no consideration for your feelings, the people who assessed me told me I how I was feeling had nothing to do with my mental health (I was in there both times for trying/ having intent to end my life) considering I am diagnosed with multiple mental illnesses and a personality disorder is beyond me, I was repeatedly telling them I would not be safe if I went home, got sent home regardless both times with no sympathy at all. They couldn’t take care of a fly nevermind a person who is struggling.
