Absolutely gone more than downhill since the change of consultant, they have replaced quite possibly one of the most caring men Ive ever known Jose with Dr Whittiker who has no care for the patients, no understanding of eating disorders. No empathy. His lack of understanding and judgemental biased attitude tore my family to pieces. He discharges people if they are struggling to eat and uses discharge as a threat rather than something happy. The place traumatises people with inhumane NG restraints. You are not treated like a living human soul. Your treated like a naughty child and basically blamed for any mental health struggles you have. So much more education needed bring back Jose!

Absolute joke. Got told they can only treat people with an eating disoder so if you have other mental health illnesses as well they can't help you and then deemed too difficult to work with . Had a consultant call me a waste of nhs money and bed space a career anorexic it's all I'll ever be and they shouldn't have to treat people like me. Patients all tend to be bullies. Staff can be rude insensitive and offensive. I've been sectioned every single time and they basically gave up on me so I still live a severe chronic eating disoder. They failed me and allowed me to be discharged without treatment therapy and help and not eating properly. They don't put effort into those with long term eating disorders but throw everything at people they can help in 6 months. They just watch you deteriorate and don't offer proper help. I've drawn up an advanced decision to refuse treatment mainly so I can never be sent there again worst unit I've ever been to! Due to the lack of help from this unit I've lost all my teeth to my eating disorders I have brain damage angina with other heart issues severe osteoporosis atrophy of the bowel and stomach as well as muscle death so I can never ever eat normally again. They could've helped me instead of classing me as too difficult then maybe I wouldn't be such a mess still. Don't voluntarily stay here go anywhere else but don't stay here they fail basically every patient I don't know anyone who's stayed here that's recovered we just get black listed. Patients aren't treated as humans and they show a lack of understanding about the problems people face especially chronic patients who suffer the most I'd rather die than be sent there again
