Have done nothing but make my partner worse have not listened to her when she spoke at all we had one good doctor but she vanished from the face of the earth with no one having record of what she said. They also used unnecessary force against my disabled partner in her short stay there, leaving not only mental distress but also physical injury

I was in The Bradgate Mental Health Unit under Section 3 of the Mental Health Act 1983 in 2023. I was in 3 wards, and was heavily medicated in the first month. I can't remember much of the first month or how I got into the 3 wards. I liked the Bosworth ward, the staff were helpful and patient.

Highly would not recommend due to the fact I'm scared to leave my room because they don't care about people that have COVID and let them leave there room also when I first got here I wasn't allowed to have talking theraphy or get reassessed properly and they was lazy and when by old notes and jump put me in a room. Also the duration I have been most of question would get ignored and dismissed I would be scared to come to Bradgate especially if you are maternity life threatening behaviour towards patients!!!!

Was under their care for a couple years. First Doctor disappeared without patients being informed, second one discharged me for not taking meds even though I needed help remembering things such as taking meds and falsified the discharge reasons to say they'd exhausted the options (they still had at least 2 left.) now I'm stuck waiting to get back in, with no access to the medication at all. 3 years later, still on the waiting list, all I need is a prescription but can't get it.

On Sunday I tried to hang myself and cut my wrists, 999 said wasn't an emergency, yet 111 sent an ambulance ?paramedics were absolutely fantastic. Twice I've been taken in, in the last 2 weeks BEGGED to be hospitalised 2 weeks ago because of my complex issues....have no support system & have personality disorders, ptsd, social anxiety and depression. Told to help myself more & go to crisis cafés. Kerry I think the nurses name was, she said my wrists were just scratches !, I wanted to show her the video of me trying to strangle myself to prove how desperate i am, NO THANKS she replied....ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING TO SEND A CONSTANTLY SUICIDAL PERSON HOME WITHOUT ANY SUPPORT. I WILL EVENTUALLY KILL MYSELF, BUT NO PREVENTION TO HELP WITH THIS...I won't even go Into how appaling the crisis team are ... WHERE IS THE SUPPORT IF YOU DONT HAVE FAMILY OR FRIENDS ? ... you can't save yourself without medical intervention. The assessment lasted 20 mins, Kerry said I have ongoing issues & need therapy... where there is a 3 year wait...
I have yet again been totally let down/failed but the services. Got discharged from my psychiatrist after 28yrs with no explanation.

been in a few times and just discharged .this time seen a becky was great set up home visits and support hope this works and no more wanting to end it all.tryed hanging and cutting wrists hope they follow and help me .She seems to be so far but this is first week .

Overall: the staff were wonderful, but the service is clearly lacking funding and capacity. Long wait lists and poor communication. It is a shame because staff probably have to deal with a lot of complaints of things not under their control.

The Bradgate ADHD Service has been a mixed bag. It took over a year for me to be given my first appointment following my initial referral, it would have been nice to at least receive something to say they had received my referral and how long I could expect to wait. Once I did get seen the process was an initial meeting with an ADHD specialist. I'd advise to turn up very early if you don't know where the unit is because it was a long walk from where I parked. I was then sent another appointment for the following month during which I had to complete a more detailed questionnaire and received my diagnosis. At this point, care was handed over to the titration nurses to help me find the right type and dose of medication.

I was called by the clinic each month to review medication and all of the titration nurses were very friendly. After a few months I was put into the care of Fran who assured me that he alone would be my point of contact from then on. He has been extremely friendly, helpful and understanding. He has helped me to find the correct medication by explaining each of the options clearly and allowing me to find one that suited me best, he advised me of anything to be concerned about, sent me information and booked telephone appointments with me so I knew when to expect follow up calls.

I had a personal experience with This unit at one of the darkest times of my life. I have to say just how much I appreciated the care compassion and help I received there. The are no words to express my gratitude for The Bradgate unit and staff.
