This place is a danger to anyone with mental health issues and they need investigating!! Appointments ALWAYS cancelled with excuses of staff shortages which is the same excuse they use when they don’t call you back when you are in crisis and suicidal, they don’t care if your mental health is at breaking point and 111 can’t help if you are under the beacon and mental health services at gp surgery cant see you if you are under the beacon as the system shows you have appointments booked but these appointments never happen as they get cancelled so you can’t win!! They can’t even be bothered to read your notes and treat you generically regardless of your needs and all they ever do is keep apologising but never actually do anything to help. You can’t even leave a review on the NHS website because any phrases relating to mental health are not allowed!! And they wonder why vulnerable people commit suicide!!

This place and the "professionals" in it break the Hippocratic oath every minute of every day: "...DO NO HARM...".
I cannot begin to even summarise just how scarily dangerous this place is.
If you don't can't operate safely, then for God's sake STOP!
STOP selfishly turning up for work knowing that you are KILLING PEOPLE, safe in the knowledge that you enjoy ZERO accountability.
The best service you could give to people suffering mental health issues in Thanet, would be to lock your doors and unplug the phones.

The Beacon have a wonderful habit of assessing you, referring you elsewhere to places that are unequipped or unsuitable, and then immediately discharging you. When you call to explain that the services they pushed you off to have rejected your referral (often citing that you need more/different care than they can offer), the Beacon refuse to speak to you, hanging up as you are "no longer under their care". Meaning you have to re-refer yourself, wait for another assessment, just to be discharged without help or a suitable referral to other services. I have dealt with this cycle for 12 years.

I went to the beacon for an assessment it was horrendous. One of the social workers was very aggressive and the notes they made in a letter to my GP bore no resemblance to what I actually said. I made a complaint that went unanswered until I chased it up. I have been referred again recently and arranged a face to face meeting. While I was in reception my phone rang it had mistakenly been put down as a telephone assessment. The person who did the assessment said it "was hard to see what help they could give to me" I was given a big list of phone numbers for charities and that was it. HMG say there is a big increase in people unable to work because of mental health problems but when you reach out for help there is none.

Excellent service I’ve been blessed
My therapist helps me understand my condition also makes me feel my worth as well and never puts me down helped me to understand that with what I’ve been though it’s not my fault way I am and made me see the good things about my self i feel like I’m blessed and lucky to get the support I need she helps me understand everything in a way that’s easy for me to understand kind natured and very supports and considerate

I’m also lucky enough to work with the job team as well which is being successful made me realise I can get work with my needs and that there is support out their and an employer will help and support me with my needs and Requirements to get into work

Over all I’m lucky and blessed to be working with this services as they have got me to come so far and have progressed with my self and I am overly thankful for the beacon I would recommend as they have helped me so much in the past few months I’ve came so far working with them and sorting my life out also understanding my self better my condition my needs and knowing what I’ve been though it’s only natural and normal to be the way I am as I felt worthless before coming here but I’ve realised it’s not my fault and I’m actually a Success story and I should be proud with what I’ve achieved in life so thank u so much becon

Been waiting months for a increase through my meds to have an appointment, then have to now wait another month to have a medical review over the phone. Been trying to get better with appointments, then feel complete worse, I've tried ending my life, self harming, isolating myself away from the world. My therapy sessions ain't working for me I feel like I have a couple sessions then I'll have to miss two sessions out then they want to make an appointment. I'm feel lost an empty.

I would rate them minus 5 stars if I could!! Absolutely useless, disgusting and a disgrace of a service. On and off under the beacon for around 5 years, finally got the diagnosis I have waited years for and then as soon as I'm diagnosed I'm shoved aside to deal with it alone with no support or help or check ins. They cancelled my initial intervention appointments, 5 in a row to be precise then they cancelled it all together leaving me yet again with nothing. Told them they couldn't care less if I walked out and killed myself that day and that was over a month ago and they did no follow check ups whatsoever, so theoretically I genuinely was right. They will watch you suffer and leave you to deal with everything alone but they are also the first to jump up and say they cared when someone ends their life. Also had a complaint in about them for months which doesn't seem to be going anywhere. The beacon have failed me and thousands of other people and it is a disgrace to call them professionals!!

Absolutely disgraceful. Staff made me feel worse because they were rude and insulting. They kept discharging me after one session and I'd waited months to get that appointment. My whole experience with them was a complete waste of time. A group leader clearly hated me and told me to leave because I cried. The complaint I made was ignored and in my experience of it all they stuck together and successfully made me feel like I was the one in the wrong. People that are referred to this awful place are filled with hope for their future until they attend. Patients are not treated with respect and discretion, and I thought the CPN's and all other trained up members of staff would behave far better than what I witnessed. Comments about how long patients had been attending and how we could help ourselves more, clearly being made to feel lower than we felt to begin with. You can't put a time limit on a patients recovery. I was even told 'theres plenty of help out there tracey, you know that' I know different. I pity anybody involved with this place because they need a miracle!
