So moving to finally visit the Stonewall Inn and the national monument. The small museum was awesome (I especially liked the books with writing prompts for LGBTQIA+ visitors). And we went in the pub too! The little triangular park outside is lovely and there are benches and shade.

No entrance fee.

Very moving experience. It's a small site staffed by some locals and an NPS park ranger. You learn more from reading than "seeing" here but it so important to learn about these unknown LGBTQ New Yorkers who fought for recognition. Free entry, worth a stop.

The only reason I'm giving this four stars instead of five is that much of the actual monument itself is blocked off from being and to walk through.

This is an important piece of history that not enough Americans are even aware of.

There's an audio tour where the statues "tell" their stories and it's worth a listen.

The visitor center was absolutely the best part of our visit to Stonewall. There was so much to learn. I didn't have all day but I feel like I could have stayed there much longer than I did, which was about 45 min. There's a lot to read and videos to watch and listen to.

The staff was helpful. We got our US Parks Passport stamp and bought some merch.

As a queer activist living in Florida, visiting Stonewall was food for my soul and very inspiring.

A small, well-maintained park with historical and cultural significance. Its history is not widely known, so you’re likely to discover something new unless you’ve specifically researched it beforehand. I recommend visiting the nearby visitor center for the full experience.

This is a very interesting place to visit. When I was last here, they were building the visitor center, so hopefully that is open now, I think that will make a big difference. The inn itself in interesting and well worth stopping for a drink even if you are not gay. There is a lot of history here and it’s quite amazing some of the things our ancestors were capable of and sites like this are a reminder of how far we have come.
