I had such a great experience with Steps to Wellbeing and their CBT program. The sessions were really helpful, and my therapist gave me practical tools that I can actually use in real life. I’ve noticed such a big difference in how I handle things now, and I feel so much more confident. I’d definitely recommend Steps to Wellbeing to anyone looking for support.

Not fit for purpose. If CBT works for you, you'll be fine. If it doesn't, you'll have three rounds of it that still do nothing because they cannot deviate from their script. Disgusting.

My therapist has been very helpful and understanding when discussing the issues I have dealt with over the last couple of years. They listen and empathise and now we are moving forward with the learning stages of CBT. I feel that the sessions have gone well. The employment support has also been of great help.

Simply not good. I was suffering with depression and related suicidal thoughts when I was referred here. After an intense phone call and an upsetting survery I had to fill out to assess my issues, my therapist told me he actually never reads the notes on a patient before meeting them; he had no idea why I was there and did not care. Of the sessions I had here, every single one was the same, where I would bring up an issue in my life and then have it turned into a joke. I struggle with taking myself and my problems seriously, but my therapist should not be spinning jokes at my expense. There was no follow-up whatsoever after I was discharged either. I waited 8 months for this service and all I got out of the sessions was a sense that I had wasted my time.

A horrendous experience and a complete failure by this service all before I’ve even stepped through the door! I had an initial telephone assessment which was arduous and awful but nevertheless necessary. I was asked if I wanted details of my self referral and care with this service shared with my GP to which I specifically expressed absolutely NOT. Low and behold I can see on my GP portal a few days letter the very letter of referral and explaining the treatment I wanted from the service SHARED with my GP. AGAINST my consent. I immediately and angrily rang the service and spoke with a very empathetic and caring woman to be fair. I was apologised to but told she would be looking into it with her lead and I’ll hear back with an explanation as to what occurred to allow this to happen and an official apology. A week on I have not heard back from her or ANYONE with even an apology or explanation. I am outraged and disgusted. This is the first time I’ve ever reached out for help and support psychologically in my life, I already have zero trust in no one and I’ve been failed utterly and treated like this? Without even a regard for my privacy and welfare and no call back apology? Upon reading the reviews here I am hardly surprised I underwent this experience and in reality I think I have had a narrow and lucky mental health escape! What a horrendous service by all that’s meant to help those most in need. I can’t even trust you before I step foot through your door!? Shame on you! As you simply can’t be bothered as a service to apologise or contact me, I will in reciprocation also fail to alert you that I choose to withdraw from your service altogether as you have FAILED me and I have NO TRUST in you therefore no progress will be made and believe me this will be reported OFFICIALLY (as you failed me the grace period I gave you of a week). Utter shame on you!

Person who i was talking to got 'scared' because i raised my voice a little. someone who is scared of a little raised bvoice should not be working with mentally vulnerable people. but i have no other choice, so time to get shafted by those who 'care'

Not helpful at all. Tried this service for the first time only to have 2 consecutive appointments cancelled right before the appointment. Tried again a year later, another appointment cancelled with very short notice. Once I finally had my assessment, I was told that they can’t help me and put ALL my personal information to another service that only made things worse for me. No alternative options were offered. I felt that all that I said during the assessment was passed on to other people and soon enough it felt like everyone was told of my struggles. Not only did they waste my time but also put me in the state of anxiety and panic I have never experienced before. It took me months to get out of the mess they put me in. Maybe they meant well, but the way my case was handles was disgraceful and I have no trust left for such organisations. Avoid if you are looking for PROPER help.

Told to refer myself here by my doctor. So I did. Got a call to say they couldn't help me and I needed CMHT.
Cmht then said they couldn't help and would tell Steps to see me. So doctor does a letter to Steps. They call for the second time and they say they can't help me yet again. I was expecting it.!! Considering I overdosed 6weeks ago and I'm just being tossed back and forwards between them both and no one wants to help or cares that I have had no help since being in hospital for two days. No wonder our mental health system a mess and suicide rates at an all time high. The NHS cannot cope or care.
