I would not recommend Sarah. My 16 year old (at the time) daughter had severe anxiety and depression. I paid privately for some CBT sessions which I had been told would help her. I paid £120 per week for three sessions recommended by Sarah ( I had to take on more hours at work in order to pay for these) and I later found out that all that was discussed was Harry Potter!!

I did not find her helpful at all. I applied for PIP on behalf of my daughter. I contacted Sarah with a view to obtaining some proof of the help that she was providing to strengthen my application. First she said she would do it. I had to chase her up on this as the DWP had given a deadline by which the application had to be submitted. She then backtracked, saying that that this was not something she would normally do. I did not think this was an unreasonable request given how much I was paying her per week. She also said that if she was seeing patients in practice then this would take priority over everything. Eventually, a few stroppy emails later on my part, she provided an email confirming her involvement and the treatment plan. It was just a shame this was not as straightforward a process as in my view it should have been.

The cancellation policy of, at that point, three days was unreasonable. I agreed to it as I would have done anything to get my daughter better and my daughter seemed to like her. When Sarah became pregnant during the course of my daughter's treatment, she frequently cancelled sessions at the last minute. In fact the last session that my daughter had with her before she went on maternity leave was cancelled with a minute to go.

My daughter emailed her during the course of her maternity leave to ask how she was, how everything was going, and to update her on the CBT sessions she was having with another counsellor. To this day she has never had a response. It is clear that Sarah is still practicing from what I see on her website and she had won awards for her work!!

It is sad that someone in the so called caring profession can leave a very vulnerable sixteen year old pretty much high and dry without a backward glance.
