I recently had a female family member stay at this mental health facility. Initially, I was quite concerned and distressed after reading some of the reviews and imagined the worst. It's important to note that many reviews for such places might be left by patients, which can sometimes skew perceptions. After all, it's not common for people to leave 5-star reviews for mental health hospitals. I am leaving this review for people like me panicking at 4am about the wellbeing of my family member.

Our experience, was generally positive. While communication could have been better and the standard NHS treatment was as expected, the staff were friendly and understanding. The facilities are modern and well-maintained, with good quality and varied food. Each patient has their own room and is allowed to keep their mobile phones, although chargers are kept/used in a cupboard unless you provide a charger that cannot be wrapped around the neck. Patients can even have shopping and nearby takeaways delivered to the ward (read the little booklet they give you).

Visiting hours are from 11 am to 8 pm on weekends and 3 pm to 8 pm on weekdays, although visitors are not allowed on the ward during lunch (12-1 pm) or dinner (5-6 pm).

While your relative may not be happy to be here, as it's not a place anyone wants to be, it's not a bad place to be and its is for their own good.

Not a patient here nor do i know anyone who has been but my god the staffing is clearly very awful.

As me and my partner were leaving the golden eagle a man we could only describe as being a harm to himself and possibly others, walked out into the road with his hands up looking very startled and then continued to climb up onto my partners car bonnet. He then walked back into sherwood oaks with 2 other men, police were informed and he was confirmed a patient.

This man should not have been allowed to be walking around alone as this could have ended very badly, the care these people are giving needs to be assessed immediately.

My nephew recently came out of this hell hole prison as he had a breakdown. He said because he had mental health issues no one would listen to his treatment whilst in this torturous place . He clearly states he was beaten up , starved , denied any rights to anything any human has the right to . No television , no radio , no access to exercise . No interaction with anyone else and absolutely no access to help from staff . He said he was tortured at night and wanted to die . When he complained they made false allegations to police he assaulted a member of staff to cover up what they had actually done to him . They got him remanded for months and prosecution dropped the case at crown court . He told me the staff are pure and utter evil and get there kicks out of making patients suffer and laughed together on what evil things they could do to patients next . He told me and family members no one is accountable to higher staff for the evil they do to the patients as it acceptable as who will believe a patient with mental health issues . Surely people at rock bottom and suffering health issues shouldn’t be treated so badly . This place should be shut down and all the evil staff held accountable in a court of law especially senior staff who turn a blind eye to this deplorable behaviour of patients !!!

This place is genuinely inhumane. It is basically prison style torture. Meant for domestic abuse survivors however their attempt to make people better with their poor attempt at reverse psychology just an example of borderline narcissistic abuse

If I could I would’nt give a star! My partner went in informal and self discharged not a week later due to how poorly he was treated he says he felt like he was bugging them when asking for something simple as a juice or to go into his locker to drink his coffee that someone helped there self’s too! Please be asked to transfer somewhere else if you go there no wonder everything is rated inadequate!

A joke of a hospital that generally is pointless I'm an informal patient got tested twice in the same day for substances I come from being a rough sleeper and on the second test having already passed the 1st and not leaving the ward was requested to do another. This place is likely to drive me to harder substances, unhygienic as a patient who is going home monday doesn't bathe, wets himself all the time and sits in it, also often grabs the food from the servery and staff do nothing forcing many to purchase they're own food (in my case with money I don't have
Other problems too as highlighted in the other reviews, the psychiatrist I saw triggered me twice on 1st meeting and I myself have had a watch stolen, only getting a star because I have to but in truth too many problems and should be demolished, made a complaint to cqc but apparently I cant because I'm informal but reccommended the lcas and parliamentary complaints system will try both but not expecting much, abuse and corruption basically run Nottingham city and county council regardless if I'm not discharged soon I'll return to rough sleeping it's better than this.
