Went to get some help with my mental helth like I'd been advised to do i have an assistant dog and was refused entry despite showing the I'd proof card i have for him. Discussing response was told I'm not blind so I shouldn't need him with me or that he was even an assistant dog.

No because it's only blind people who have assistant dogs no1 else right? 🤦‍♂️

Quite literally turned me away when I was acutely in crisis. They said it was because they already had someone else in a similar position, which I understand, but that's besides the point and the point is how I was actually spoken to. They spoke to me with absolutely no patience or sympathy or understanding, like they didn't give me any space to talk outside for even a few minutes and just told me to go to Guildford which I physically couldn't do for multiple reasons.
I understand that understaffing is a thing, but please for the love of god put a plan in place for this kind of situation (like having two separate areas). Going here was literally my final effort before doing something, my final reach for help, so imagine how it felt in that moment. Instead they just called the police and had me sectioned, instead of giving me any space to talk and calm down and probably mitigate that entire thing, which was a major trauma in and of itself.
Screw you guys.

The staff are fabulous just like all the other sabp sites that I have used. Warm, welcoming and caring with a good comfortably sized room and facilities.

Great place to go to, but beware of who you tell your problems to one member of the staff is judge, jury, and executioner, so don't say you were not warned, except for her, it's a great place and you can get help.
