I recently completed the 28 day addition program at the Priory in Woking and I can honestly say it was a life changing experience. From the minute I arrived all the staff were so friendly and welcoming and couldn’t do enough for me, they all made sure I was well looked after the whole time I was there. The reception team are amazing and are always asking if you’re ok and how your day is going which was so lovely. The nursing team in the Maple ward where I stayed were absolutely amazing and so caring and compassionate. My room was really nice, cleaned daily, I was given fresh towels everyday, I had a big tv, nice en-suite bathroom and a lovely view over the grounds. The kitchen staff were lovely and the food was amazing. I can not fault the service I received during my stay and would highly recommend the Priory in Woking if you’re struggling with any addiction issues. A Huge shout out to Molly, Mick, Carole, sheela, George and Liam and all the ward managers. The priory saved my life and I will forever be grateful to everyone there who helped me on my journey.

It’s taken me over 3 years to leave this review. The Priory is fantastic if you want to be fed a load of lies. 30% of staff were lovely and did a great job (care staff) other 60% of staff you can tell they aren't even interested in mental health, or actually even know any real facts or traits about it, they are there to get paid first and foremost, and to just keep the peace, and then the patient educates them on their illness and how it affects them. This seemed to be the routine of the agency staff. I was a private patient with health insurance for 12 weeks. I would have left within the first 3 weeks if id been paying. I had to change rooms 4 times while i was there. First change was because i had no toilet seat. Second was because someone was coming in who was more “higher risk” so off i moved again. 3rd was because the radiator was broken and leaking so off i went again to the tiniest and last room of the Priory for my last bit of time there.

My experience of The Priory Woking has been fantastic. All staff are amazing at what they do. Jan, Ann and Jenny on reception are so friendly and welcoming. The consultants, therapists and nursing team are just brilliant. The dining room team and chefs provide lovely food and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spacious and clean as are the communal areas. I would definitely recommend it to those needing help with mental health and addiction. Thank you so much, you've all made a huge difference to my mental wellbeing.

Sadly I was already in a bad place when I entered The Priory and I did not make the most of the therapy or care that is on offer. With hindsight I can say that it is a first class place to recover from mental illness. The ward staff/therapists etc are very supportive and caring. The rooms are comfortable and very clean, the food top notch served by a friendly team.
I regret not making the most of my time on Maple Ward but would recommend time there for anyone struggling with mental health or addiction issues.

Most of the people in my group and most of the staff so lovely and caring. My key worker had client chair in front of clock which he constantly looked at while I was talking about very personal issues. Addiction programme not monitored carefully enough. Opened up can of worms for me which left me distraught and needing crisis support when I went home. Told I should stay but issues raised would not have been dealt with. Harsh programme. Bed full of long hairs although cleaning staff generally good. 3 weeks later still waiting for a refund and I had to phone to ask for it in first place. Seemed unaware that I had left early and had not been sent to accounts. Monies for 4 weeks taken out immediately before I went in but now need refund for future care but this is not forthcoming. If not Christian
will find some of groups difficult.

My experience at the Priory Hospital in Woking was life saving. As both an in patient and out patient, the care staff were so loving and caring. The therapy was very diverse and helpful.
I’m shocked by the negative reviews, I was there on and off over a 12 month period and also know other people who have been in the priory.
I would send any of my loved ones there for help.

I was only there for a short time but within that time they were able to teach me so much about how I can cope with and recover from my mental health problems. I feel happy for the first time in 8 years. Almost anxiety free for the first time in 8 years. That I understand myself for the first time in 8 years. Genuinely a miraculous and life changing experience. Everyone is so kind, skilled, attentive and caring. I cannot fault this establishment at all. They were also able to make sure I could continue getting outpatient treatment and support to enable me to carry on improving.

If you need help, there is no debate; this is the place for you.

Thank you for giving me my life back.

Also to counter Richard’s review, the NHS patients are lovely if you aren’t a bigot.
