I had a great experience here on clumber ward and they really helped me with my mental health issues. Although other patients had worse problems they were always able to tend to my needs. Food is good and staff are friendly

- staff lie in notes about serious incidents to da ministry of justice to keep people who they want here to suit their "program"
- violence here daily I have seen legs broken, eyes cut and lips popped open with blood on the floor; no police were called this is a cover up
- staff ridicule patients by causing arguments over a TV remote then using the argument to take leave off patients therefore making it unable for patients to EVER be released into the community

- staff slamming doors 24/7 365 days a year, staff sitting talking african voodoo outside of rooms 24/7/365 which has happened in every so called mental health hospital; how are we to recover if there are alarms blazing doors slamming and corrupt staff sat outside your dormitory room with keys am I waiting for Jimmy Savile to enter my passage?

P.s these institutions need reform don't get me started with the biometric heart beat torture they employ at every jail and hospital

I am currently at Rufford Ward (PICU) most of the staff are kind and understanding although there is a few that aren't so nice and judgmental. The ward is run down, most of the time short staffed, lack of Occupational Therapy, stains on the floor that have been there for over a year, most activities require grounds leave and worst of all, THERE IS A MAJOR ANT PROBLEM THAT IS NOT BEING DEALT WITH! The food is also very poor and thats an understatement. Racist patients don’t get dealt with and get away with it which is distressing. The food is supplied by Wiltshire Farm Foods which is very poor and also ridiculous because my 90 Year old Grandad and 88 year old Grandma Use Meals on Wheels as their mobility is not great and guess what their meals are provided by Wiltshire Farm Foods! Most of us are young people struggling yet we’re getting fed food that is suited towards the elderly!?

I’m only giving two stars due to the nurses and health care workers being amazing they listen to you and do help as need and when they can ect. However, the consultant/doctor who gives you the treatment, he did literally nothing within the two weeks I was there. I was misdiagnosed with EUPD just for it to change to bi-polar on discharge. No meds changed or added. I did explain that that diagnosis was wrong ect. I think it’s very irresponsible to discharge someone who was sectioned at the time leave when they feel the exact same as when they where sectioned in the first place. Two weeks later admitted to hospital again with a change in meds and a diagnosis that actually fits of depressive episode. Due to this I would personally refuse to go back onto that same ward if it has the same doctor.

Staff are very unprofessional, reception staff are good however the staff located on newstead ward are very uncaring and like to provoke the patients resulting in distressed reactions, the staff don’t allow patients to eat in their rooms even though they suffer from social anxiety and struggle to mix with others or strangers, some staff are okay however the hospital is very unprofessional and I would not recommend for anyone suffering with mental health to be on this ward. Staff like to disturb patients early hours in the morning to lock possessions away under a bed where they cannot get access to them and talk over patients having a general conversation and not explaining to patients why things have to be locked away. This is very uncaring and takes away patients right to privacy and dignity resulting in them becoming distressed and uneasy. This does not help aid the patients problems, the nurses have attitude problems and laugh at patients when they are feeling anxious or upset. They don’t explain medications and just expect patients to take them without questioning.
