A year ago I stayed here and still traumatised by the way I got treated. I was forced to take medication I didn't want and injected when I refused. I was locked in seclusion for 6 days, had to beg for food shower and a drink. Was humiliated and laughed at by the staff. The staff were terrible. Known by room numbers.They don't know what they are. So un organised I could go on and on about what happened. No support in there at all. Can't belive that this place is allowed to take in patients who are vulnerable. It's full of staff who think it's ok to bully the patients. Cant see how people can get well in this environment. I literally have ptsd from being in here.

I’ve stayed in a few psychiatric hospitals and this was by far the worst. I was locked in my room upon arrival and after begging to be let out, was told that I couldn’t be for 24h because of Covid (I had been transferred from another hospital and had undergone Covid testing, all of which were negative). I asked to do a test to be allowed out of my locked room, but was told this wasn’t allowed, despite me researching company policy and learning that visitors could do a lateral flow on arrival, and if negative, be allowed to visit. In the end I forcefully pushed my way out during observation. Once with other patients, I asked a bit about routine, activities, meals and bed times. To which they all said there are none and you just do what you want when you want. Patients were left in soiled clothing, staff talked openly about other patients over walkie talkies. I asked to speak to a member of staff when I needed it and was told that there was nobody around. After an incident I was then told to stop with my attention seeking behaviour otherwise I wouldn’t be transferred back to my local hospital which was planned for the next day. My very few belongings that I had were lost. I was transferred back to a local unit with another patient, and she said that she had been locked in her room there for over 48h and was not given or offered any food in that time. This was an absolutely horrific hospital and an experience that I’ll unfortunately never forget.

After my wife's stay at this facility due to a sudden mental health breakdown and very poor mobility. All members of staff I dealt with were 100% professional in helping my wife with daily tasks. Within 24 hours, they had every bit of equipment she needed to make her stay easier with her poor mobility. Every time I spoke to a member of staff from reception, care staff, doctors, and management, they were all respectful of the situation and treated me like a member of the team. I was updated with information about her care and recovery regularly and had a key member of staff that I could contact with any questions I needed answering. I would like to say well done to all the staff for their hard work.

Should I mention one star is for the worst place ever .I'm traumatised and upset by the Care I got. The managers are not great and seem to use my austism to cover up there bad cold attitudes. Leave patients to cry and sit at table watch you scream the place down .I as very physically ill and they didn't get me the medical help when needed it .also slammed door in patients face. Terrible admission. I was told I was not suicidal by the consultant the second I walked through the door to my first ward round - he didn't even know me. Patients with a diagnosis of a personality disorder were actively discriminated against; I was trying to talk about my problems rather than go back to self-destructive coping mechanisms and this was ignored - as a result I relapsed when discharged. Generally, patients who did harm themselves or made a scene were given more time, support, and attention and thus these sorts of behaviours were reinforced. How INCREDIBLY damaging. On the other hand, one patient was told she was attention seeking whilst attempting a suicide plan (after something traumatic had happened to her)! I witnessed another patient who was left in the seclusion room for 4 days as literal punishment in response to kicking off at the disrespect shown to her by the consultant; she was not in the seclusion room for the safety of herself or others, they just didn't know what to do with her. I found only a few compassionate members of staff who wanted to get to know me, the rest showed no interest and were generally inadequately trained. There were also communication barriers posed by the fact that many staff didn't speak English at a level sophisticated enough to work with the mentally ill. All in all, this made it very difficult for the patients who had complex needs and dual diagnoses to interact and offload in a meaningful way. There were constant medication discrepancies, mainly upon admission. I watched one patient go through horrendous withdrawals from pregabalin because they hadn't thought in advance and ordered any in for her. For patients who just needed medicating for psychosis it was generally okay, but for the rest of us... This place genuinely created more trauma and worsened my C-PTSD.

Awful. No human rights whatsoever. Not listened to at all by dr Helen the psychiatrist. Forcibly injected with anti psychotics. Nothing to do. Not allowed outside for a walk or a rollie. Just fed and medicated. Treated like animals. No talking therapies. No getting to the route of the problem. The mental health system is sick and disgusting. This place as well.

My daughter was an involuntary patient at this place. All was well till the doctors decided to forcefully medicate her, although she wasn't a danger to herself or others. What's the most disturbing thing, is that she was an American tourist visiting UK. So she was taken to the hospital after having a panic attack in the London hotel, then transferred to Pinhoe View and after three weeks of doing great there, while not on any medication, forcibly injected with the strong medication that still have lasting side effects on her. She begged them not to do it but three doctors, all men pinned her down and a nurse injected her with a double dose of this medication. She was calling me all night after this as the medication gave her such effect that she felt she must be dying. Two months later she is still having trouble walking after this, as she has developed severe extrapyramidal side effects. Her hands and legs move involuntary, on its own, she has trouble sleeping. She has to be on two meds now just to counteract the lasting side effects of this fateful injection.
Also, while in the hospital the personel there lost her iPhone while they were taking it from her to charge, and only after me pressing them gave her a simple flip Nokia phone upon release. I had to really press them to release her, they were planning to keep there up to six months and keep injecting her every month with this long lasting medicine. It's a scary prospective and hope they will be held accountable for the damage they have done to her health. Despite me warning them that she is a medically fragile person and has underlying medical conditions, and doesn't tolerate especially the medication they have treated her with. Not recommending this place, the only people who were nice and helpful there were the kitchen staff. They were excellent and kind.

If your ever in this hospital ask for a transfer straight away quite few of the staff just dont care some really care and love there jobs and especially the lady who i saw in town today offerd to try and get me back and i said no im fine i dont want to go back but a cobsultant isnt who people think she is she knew i was going to fail and knew i wouldnt get housed and she pushed for my discharge with no money no were to go because no one helped me with accomidastion i was set up to fail i even took overdose out side police stastion last night and they just watched as they drove in the stastion the systeam is broken and im the second person they have failed i would rather die on the streets then go back here rezpect to a few of them but nah il die on the streets il take my chance
