Really sad to be writing this, however I don’t recommend The Oaklands Hotel for a wedding venue. ||||I had a deal package with the venue, absolutely fantastic price and on the day the staff couldn’t have done more for us, we had the perfect day, in particular Malcolm our host and Sharon who set up our tables, just beautiful 🧡💙||||However after our wedding, our left over dessert table items and unopened tray bakes from my containers went “missing”. Upon asking for them to kept, providing a container and being in the marquee by 10am like the contract said, this had all gone. ||||Management were incredibly difficult to speak to, going days without a response. Our host also ignored all messages after telling us a staff member bagged it up and kept it for us, we were just trying to get our food back before it was too late. ||||I run a small business, one of my customers had their birthday cake thrown away after the event, they were compensated for this though. I made a post regarding my issue, asking for advice and 17 people came forward with similar problems! One of my brides who has a wedding cake booked in, has just moved her wedding venue completely because of lack of communication. Also a lady had a charity pot missing, another lady had unopened 10 bottles of wine disappeared and lots of people said that their wedding cakes were just thrown out. ||||I was told by the owner that food isn’t kept overnight, however our sweet table didn’t get touched and that was there for me to remove the next morning.. 🤯||||I had taken this matter further and everything is now sorted 3 months later. ||||I do think this review needs to be out there for people to be wary off, although our day was everything, in my opinion the after care and customer service after a problem was shocking.

An old place that is not looked after. Needs major refurbishment. Corridors on way to room smell so bad it took my breath away. The room was awful. One pendant light for the whole room & one bedside lamp. Stains on carpet. Bed was old with split fabric on headboard & covered in dust you can roll up with your finger. Old mattress protector had seen better days. Awful mattress and pillows. Bedding was good once upon a time but now feels all bobbled and not soft. Spare pillows in a ripped old hanging open pillow bag in wardrobe. The creakiest uneven flooring. Our room was on the end of the building next to what was a lot of motors running equipment I guess. So noisy all night long. Curtains let all the lighting in from the carpark! Bathroom was special …bottom of the bath moved as you stood in the shower and water pooled in it. Shower head was back/grey with limescale. tiles around the window hadn’t seen a clean in a good while.The sink & loo was as tired as the rest of the room too. Go spend your £120 odd quid on a Travel lodge or Prem Inn and an evening out.

We attended a wedding over the Valentines weekend, it's probably the best wedding we've ever attended.
The staff were amazing, the food was great and we had a fabulous day.
Would recommend to anyone! ❤️

We booked in to a suite for a fizz Friday and had a lovely time. The room was awesome and great value for money, clean spacious and comfortable. The food in the restaurant for the cheap prices we were presented with was amazing value and so tasty and filling. Will definitely book again and can thoroughly recommend

Very disappointed to find when we checked in our room had not been cleaned ready for our arrival bearing in mind we didn't arrive until after 5pm for a wedding. We were then moved to what could only be described as the room that is let out to the complainers. It was small and the shower had to run around to get wet once we actually got some warm water. The strip on the bottom of the shower screen was split and yellow as was the grout in the tiles. We were married at the Oaklands 16 years ago and have recommended it to quite a few people but I must admit I will not be doing this in future.

Visited her for a Shoe Show for work. We visit every year to see our reps who are all very lovely. The staff here are very professional and helpful, the food is lovely and we've never had anything but a great experience here. Thank you 😊

I went to have lunch Tuesday 11th we were over 30min before they informed us that the kitchen was now closed to to a fire. We where then informed that we we blocked in by fire engines and couldn’t leave. After another 45 min had to asked to some how be let out due to a hospital appointment, spoke to a lady manager who managed to get engines move and told us to leave detail with a lady with long blond hair and white coat to come back and have complementary meal next time we come. Came back today to redeem this and was told by a different manager after leaving us waiting for 20min that this would have never happened basically calling us liar’s and refused to honour this

My mum suggested us meet here for lunch. We got here about an hour before they started serving (My mum had an appointment cancelled in the city) but they allowed us to have coffee in the restaurant while we waited. The decour was modern yet classy, the food was lovley, pleasant, and the service was brilliant. The staff were really friendly, had a good sense.of humour and were very welcoming.
Both my partner, mum and step dad, agreed that when we get together, we should meet here and make it a regular thing, as we live a fair distance apart.
