I was interested in having a go at throwing and did a lot of research on places to try. New Dawn came up highly rated. I went on the tram and got off at Holt Town which was a 2/3 min walk as I wasn't sure about parking in the area. Was super easy to find.

I arrived slightly early so had a look around the studio before the other people in the class arrived. The instructor then started on time with a demonstration. We then got to work throwing our own pots for the next 1.5 hours. The instructor was super patient and very knowledgeable. Can't wait to see the finished pieces.

Had an amazing time at the beginner’s wheel-throwing class! Dulce was a fantastic instructor—so patient, attentive, and great at explaining each step. She made the whole experience enjoyable and stress-free, even for complete beginners like us. My boyfriend and I had so much fun, and we can’t wait to see our finished pots once they’ve been fired. We’ll definitely be back for more!

Such a lovely experience. I bought a class for me and my bestfriend friend and honestly we loved it. We had such a blast, and were surprised with how many attempts we got. Filipa was such a lovely teacher and so patient. She managed to give 121 attention to everyone in the class. The class size was also relatively small which makes it easier for everyone to be seen. Would definitely go back, and recommend this place.

Me & My partner decided to do a wheel throwing taster session for our 14-year anniversary. We wanted to make something that we could keep as a memento and our session with New Dawn Pottery did not disappoint.

Booking a taster wheel-throwing session was simple and efficient and when we arrived we were met with a warm & friendly welcome from Dulce. The class was full (8 people) and she managed to tutor and give attention to each and every one of us. We were all accommodated for, and the atmosphere was relaxing! Everyone seemed to have a good laugh as we all underestimated the skill it takes to make absolutely anything on a pottery wheel!

We learned a lot within the 2-hour time frame and have found a new possible hobby to venture into in the future. We got to pick the glaze for our (wonky but special) pots and we look forward to collecting them.

A great memory for our anniversary that won't be forgotten anytime soon! Thank you New Dawn.

What a fantastic experience! Filipa was such a good teacher and created a really relaxed environment. She made throwing look so easy but broke it down into steps so it was manageable, we all managed to get 2-4 pots thrown each! If you’re considering trying a go on a potters wheel definitely give this place a try. I parked just 8 minute walk down the road at the tram station so conveniently located for none drivers too! I’ll 100% be going back for more!

The perfect beginner throwing class! Dolce was super helpful and friendly, the class was great vibes - perfect for a Saturday evening activity.

There was a lovely mixture of couples and individuals, so perfect if you want to have a solo date too.

Will be booking onto a longer throwing course after this, for later in the year.

I Was gifted a beginners throwing class for myself and my partner for Christmas. Having never made pottery before, I found it incredibly hard to begin with and I was terrible!! However, Filipa’s encouragement, humour and teaching was so so helpful. We loved every second of this teaching class and hope to come back soon, thank you!!:)

I’ve been wanting to try throwing pottery for ever and my husband bought me the taster session for Valentine’s Day, I was so excited and it didn’t disappoint. I loved every minute of it. The tutor explained everything so well and was super patient with everyone, I threw 4 pots in total and couldn’t decide between them so bought the extra ones haha.
If you are not sure on weather to book or not just do it, you won’t regret it 😊
