Appalling ADMIN ... cancelled and rearranged my appointment with my care coordinator 2 weeks ago however this morning received a text advising the cancelled one was still in place and if any trouble to get in touch. This is the worst administration I've ever experienced. Also had a 12 week CBT course the therapist then took 2 weeks holiday then after a telephone interview then had an extended leave and has now left the service.
The report she wrote doesn't mention any of this as I told them I found it a pointless exercise and it wasn't for me. The therapist then asked me to come in to see her as she wanted to know why even though she couldn't find the time when I had waited 3 months to see her. The report was done on her last day at Mellmead House so when I replied I disagree with her findings I got an out of office reply that she had left the service.

Genuinely they should be ashamed at the level of care patients receive. It’s sickening the terrible treatment the staff provide. It has nothing to do with the nhs being overworked the employees at the hospital hate their jobs and make that clear with the way they treat MENTALLY ILL people. Which is ironic because you’d think people working within such a sensitive environment should have empathy, understanding and compassion. Not telling someone ā€œit’s not there businessā€ they are feeling suicidal. The improper language used in distressing situations can be the difference between someone getting better or becoming a statistic. It shouldn’t take months and several gp doctor referrals to then speak with a nurse who very much presented herself as arrogant and lacking the basic skill needed to be a mental health professional. I was discriminated against because I didn’t walk in there showing clear signs that I was mentally ill as if I needed to fit the grudge, dirty, reeking of self hatred stereotype to be seen and understood not dismissed. Society has taught the older generation, Gen Z’s who are suffering with mental illnesses can be categorised simply by the way they look. As someone who has been with various mental health teams over the past six years, there needs to be a reassessment of the staffs capabilities. There will never been an improvement if something isn’t changed, tax payers are funding a system that is designed to help yet how many of your patients can you actually say we’re content or satisfied with there treatments.

I had an appointment with a psychiatrist today.
Waited for more than 1 hour to be seen. He
came in around 2.15 pm. Didn't even apologize
for being late. He took me to his consultation
room, where we proceeded with our
appointment, he didn't bother to listen, he has
the worse attitude, very disrespectful he has
blamed my illness due to work and even on my
children. When I explained to him that's not the
case. He didn't listen to me. He didn't even
bother listening to me about what ! have to say
When I tried to explain how I feel and how my
mental health is worsening. The only thing he
kept saying to me is that do you want me to
prescribe you tranquilizers so you can sleep all
day. He didn't even ask me how ! am coping
with my daily life. I felt disappointed , that place
makes me feel that I will never recieve the right
treatment to get better. I left this place crying,
the psychiatrist ridiculed and humiliated me.

In a previous appointment, he allowed another
person to listen to our conversation, a
conversation that was about my mental illness
which is private and confidential.

Avoid this hospital at all cost, they seem to be
incompotent in everything they do.

The Psychotherapist doesn’t understand that people also have physical illnesses as well! I have waited three years to get help and had my first Psychotherapy appointment last week and it says on my records how many physical disabilities I have but unfortunately the Psychotherapist has failed to understand how my physical disabilities affect me and lack of compassion towards me and basically said if I miss another appointment they’re not going to help me!
The reason I have been referred there is to try and help me with my frustration towards how abled bodied people treat me but unfortunately they are like any other abled bodied person ignorant towards people with health conditions

Absolutely useless they will do everything in their power to send you to your GP.
Zero help is on offer and they treat mental health like a common cold.
Apart from that I am still trying to figure out what exactly it is that they do.

This place is a complete waste of time and taxpayers money.
Most the staff do not care and will just say anything to get rid of you.
This is probably the only training they have had.

It is a real shame Google doesn’t have an option for 0 stars.

If I could rate -100 I would. This place has made me believe I will never get help. The FIRST time I was seen at this hospital after OD’ing the doctor greeted me with ā€œso what have you done to yourself, you seem pretty normalā€
After explaining my condition He told me that the reason ā€œI’m like thisā€ is simply just my personality.
About 3months later I was diagnosed with ASD,ADHD & bipolar disorder by a different psychiatrist.
Every interaction I’ve had with reception on the phone has been terrible their attitude is disgusting. They are NOT there to help. My condition has become so much worse and this hospital is a big factor. Where am I supposed to go for someone to help me

I recently had an appointment with the mental health team, but I was extremely disappointed with their punctuality. Even though I arrived on time, I had to wait well past the appointment time before being seen. This made me feel frustrated and disrespected, especially since this is a mental health team that should understand the importance of keeping appointments and being considerate of patients' time. I hope they address this issue and ensure that all patients are seen promptly and with the respect they deserve.

I supposed to see a psychiatrist in September 2023. On the same day of my appointment I received a message that my appointment was cancelled ā€œ Due to unforeseen circumstances, your Face to Face CONSULTATION appointment on 5th January 2024 at 10am with Dr Clark now been moved to Friday 2nd February 2024 at 10am.
So one week before my appointment I got this message.. Unfortunately, Dr Clark is away on a family emergency we are trying to recruit another ADHD Consultant as Dr Clark was the only one, we have therefore had to cancel your Face to Face consultation on Friday 2nd February 2024 at 10am. A new appointment will be given to you as soon as she returns, or another Doctor is in place.
Since the first cancellation I started have anxiety. All the time when I think that my next appointment can be cancelled again my hand start sweating I get very stressed..
Hope I will get an appointment as soon as possible.
I got a new appointment face to face with Dr Clark on 03/05/24.
Today is 04/04 and guess what?! My appointment has been cancelled again for the 5th time.. ā€œUnfortunately, Dr Clark has had to leave the ADHD Team here at Mellmead House due to personal circumstances. We have therefore had to cancel your Face to Face consultation on 3rd May 2024 at 10am.
It is really frustrating…
