My name is Martin I got diagnosed with bpd back in 2012 I am on a continuous journey in life to become the best version of me I can be , my wife found the low cost counselling at Maidstone and suggested it would be good for me as she cares about issues I struggle with, my Councillor AMANDA has been excellent, since meeting with Amanda once a week my self awareness has accelerated and emotions and anger that have had the ability to take me into situations and negative outcomes have significantly been reduced which I am really thankful for , Amanda has an excellent understanding of my disorder and is very professional in helping me deal with it along with being very easy and honest to talk to ..its not always easy as a man to open up and be honest but it's been so beneficial to me and those around me , I waste money on all kinds of stuff I don't really need ( which is what we are currently addressing in counselling 😄) but attending counselling and implementing change in my life is worth every penny...Big thankyou to Amanda and the team...

I cried seeing some of the costs of Private Counselling and started to lose hope. NHS waiting lists were exceedingly long and sessions limited. Then I was told about Low Cost Counselling and things looked brighter. They really do keep their costs extremely low compared to other companies.

From day one of contacting Rebecca I received the valued support I need and felt at ease straight away.

It may sound clichéd, but I believe Becky genuinely cares about her clients. She puts you at ease straight away and will not pressure you to talk about anything you are uncomfortable with. It's so reassuring to feel comfortable, understood and listened to.

At times Becky has fitted me in for an extra appointment at short notice. On a few occasions she has gone above and beyond to urgently organise appointments for others I know who were in need of help.

Becky is kind, professional, friendly, a fantastic listener, as well as extremely reliable and obviously very good at her job. She has really helped me and I am extremely grateful to have her support.

Finding a counsellor to help and support you can be tricky but from the very first meeting with Ieva I felt supported, validated and respected. I started my journey with one thing in mind and it has morphed into something else but she has stuck with me, reflecting back what I have said, asking careful questions and gently guiding me and challenging me to think, pause and reflect. This service is great for dealing with whatever problems you may face and learning appropriate coping mechanisms. Felicity specifically has been a huge help following my mental health journey. I have been attending counselling for almost 4 years with Rebecca; both in person and, since covid, virtually, which has adjusted to suit my lifestyle so much better. The consistency of Rebecca’s professionalism means I always know I can talk to her about arrangements or admin without worry (a fear for a lot who worry about reactions or rejection). I cannot speak for the individual counsellor/client relationships, but I have a fantastic rapport with Rebecca and I feel she equally supports and encourages me while challenging any negative behaviour or thoughts. I consider counselling to my “mental health gym membership” and that it will therefore remain an ongoing part of my support structure and coping strategies in managing my mental health. I genuinely feel I have developed my coping skills and benefit from my weekly sessions so much.
