if i could give it zero stars i would, the psychiatrist i saw berated me with questions about my sexual abuse after i explicitly told him multiple times i was not comfortable answering. they consistently invalidated my feelings even after i was sectioned in hospital following a serious attempt. 0/10 worst mental health service i have ever attended.

Previously i have left poor feedback regarding linwood and my experience with them. However, I have to say since a change of worker was assigned to me, my experience has been very different. I now feel listened to and things have hugely improved Thankfully.

Was put in for an assessment by NHS in late January, had no answer for 6 months so I called and told I was sent a letter a only a week ago *July* but they couldn't tell me what was on it over the phone. 4 weeks later got said letter to just say I was accepted to have an assessment, not date to come in or be called due to COVID and said they won't know when they can make my assessment. Still haven't... It's September. 😑
*UPDATE* now Jul 2023 and still unseen too. brilliant service.

Edit- many months later STILL waiting ! The therapist I was assigned was really quite rude to me and made me feel like it was all my fault (well he did keep saying it was) so I asked to be changed and explained that to another person , they said it to him and he started basically interrogating me about it and saying how I made him look bad?! Huh How is that allowed . Where is the patient confidentially or professionalism . I was then changed to a female who I still have not even had one session with and I believe have only had contact with once since I was last taken to hospital by the police for attempting . Honestly terrible. Waited months without contact. I phoned multiple times asking for them to text me if I do have an appointment as I am literally needing therapy for my ADHD so have bad memory. First time she said they would. Nothing. Called again a few weeks later. Apparently no one ever told them that I asked for a text and that the therapist was away but she will tell her when she gets back. Nothing. Phone again, once again apparently no message from anyone. Now probably half a year + later I have phoned again as have had no contact. Apparently they have been sending messages , emails and letters and because I didn't answer discharged me?!?! I havent got anything!! Again why I literally phoned asking ! I have checked all my messages and emails and have absolutely nothing. They are lying , I am not the only one this has happened too. I mean look at the other reviews. Called reception and apparently there is nothing they can do and I have to wait to be referred again. I WAITED YEARS FOR THIS!! Literally every single NHS therapy is like this, lie about sending messages just so people kill themselves and they dont have to deal with them anymore. I have had enough and will do what they want me to and kill myself as clearly they do not want to help anyone and I never will get help from the NHS. I have completely lost hope from ever getting help again due to them, gaslighting and abusing people fragile mental state to get them to commit suicide quicker. I was referred originaly after waiting 5 years for cahms, being thrown around multiple different therapy places never having a single session due to excuse after excuse and was referred again due to me attempting suicide for literally the 10+ time. Dont even bother with them they dont want to help you. Listen to the reviews, I wish I did in the first place.

The worst mental health service to exist. Would give 0 stars if it was possible. Managed to make me worse and it got to the point I've told them I never want to deal with them again. Am trying to come off my medication as one of the benefits would be never having to contact Linwood again. Of course I am now suffering from severe withdrawal (no mention of that when I said I wanted to come off my meds, thank you again!!!)

In June 2022 I got diagnosed with ADHD combine! The wait was rather long due to covid but the diagnosis was very quick. I felt very relaxed as soon as I met my Doctore and she reassured me at every step. After about an hour I had my “results” which I was very relieved about. Since then I had been on medication which has changed my life and have always found the staff helpful.

I personally know 3 others who have committed suicide while under Linwood - and while you can never completely blame Linwood for this, you cant help but recognise that their lack of empathy couldnt have helped.

Sadly, they just want to get you off of the phone.

I feel the staff here are under-experienced and not sympathetic, there is an incredible lack of understanding and empathy, which in this sector isn't great at all.

If you do suffer with learning disabilities I would also steer clear, as this is something they are not experienced in.

Keep yourself safe guys, we will fight this together whether or not the services are there or not.

It's a 2 star because the receptionists are lovely.

My first time at Linwood today for my assessment. I didn't know what to expect after reading some negative reviews here. I can honestly say I am really impressed! I was greeted by a friendly receptionist and made to feel comfortable while I waited. My assessor was Absolutely Brilliant, she took time to listen to me & pinpointed my strengths & abilities. Thank you, for helping me to believe in myself, again. Kudos 10/10
