I really can’t thank Mathew and the team enough for the fantastic work they put in to help me recover from my addiction
I first met Mathew in January after 28 years of drug use after moving out of my partners home. I had no idea how I was going to stop taking drugs just that I knew I had to but with Mathews help tips and guidance I started on the journey of getting my life back together.
We started by looking at the reasons why I did what I did then moved on to an action plan of reduction over 11 weeks untill finally I gave up completely.
Mathew was absolutely amazing at understanding what was going on and gave me so many coping strategies to deal with this massive change in my lifestyle and everything he suggested worked for me so I put all of my trust in his hands and followed his instructions to the best of my abilities resulting in a complete change in my behaviour. Also Mathew helped in other areas of my life helping me get my relationship back on track and back into my home which him understanding different ways to deal with the subject. Today I have a completely different outlook on life and am celebrating 6 months clean for witch I cannot thank Mathew enough.
I would highly recommend Mathew to anyone dealing with this issue as he is simply brilliant. He just understands where an addict is coming from and deals with the ups and downs of recovery in a caring manner with understanding and support at the top of the agenda
I didn’t always achieve my goals as the process went on and I only received support and understanding from Mathew and certainly no judgment for my failures he really was amazing

I cannot thank and recommend Home Counties enough (especially Nicola, Lorna and Ashleigh) for all their support over the past few years. They are an incredibly caring, kind, patient group of professionals who truly want to help and support you. You can see they have passion for what they do and really try to understand what you’re going through. Nicola has been nothing but kind and understanding, I’m so thankful to have found a therapist who really seems to care. I first came into contact with Home Counties Therapy two years ago and at that point was in a very dark place feeling like I didn’t have options or anywhere to turn to.

I have been seeing them on a 1.2.1 basis and have had group DBT sessions as well.

From the outset Lorna was welcoming, understanding and has helped me to get my life back on track. I’m now back in education, have a great relationship with my family and am feeling the best I ever have, this is all down to HCT guiding me along the way and encouraging me to persevere with change.

I can’t thank Lorna, Ashleigh, Matthew and the rest of the team for the support and guidance they have given me and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Six months ago I was a different person. Through DBT and my 1-2-1 sessions I have noticed a change in myself and started to challenge my thoughts and have come to understand why I'm feeling the way I do. Nicola has been fantastic! Home Counties has helped me a lot and I've got skills to set me for life <3 I love the fact that if I am having a crisis someone is always at the end of the phone to help me get through it. I'm posting this review under a pseudonym to maintain my confidentiality, just as HCTC have. As a professional person with a drug and alcohol problem, HCTC provided a safe place to come to terms with my difficulties and find a way forward. Initial contact was with Lorna who saw me within 24 hours and agreed a suitable schedule for therapy. After some time we felt that a group approach might be beneficial to me in addition to 1-2-1 sessions, so I joined the DBT group. Dialectic Behaviour Therapy is a fantastic tool for living a less chaotic life and I benefited immeasurably. The groups are delivered in a friendly, flexible format with a great sense of humour! Lorna and her team have always been hugely flexible when working around my busy job and family commitments. Their policy of allowing 24/7 contact with clients is genuine and on occasion life saving.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Home Counties for anybody seeking some help. They did, and still do, respect my autonomy in the process and have not once put me under pressure to increase or continue seeing them. 5 stars doesn't quite sum up the help they've been over the last year or so. Home Counties really go above and beyond to help and support. Over the past 18 months I’ve been helped and continue to be helped work through some of the most challenging times of life. In the DBT skills group I’ve learnt a range of skills to help me manage everyday life and crisis situations I can now recognise what I’m feeling and if this feeling is justified also make a choice of how I want to respond. I’ve been taught how to make time to respond not react. With 1-1 I’ve worked through trauma and learning who I am. I am not the same person who started therapy 18 months ago and I only have Home Counties and their amazing team to thank for this. Life is now something I look forward to having a long and healthy future in, not something I just have to put up with.
