A unique and beautiful oasis of splendour adjacent to the town centre. A wide choice of rooms at sensible prices. An excellent restaurant and a good bar menu. At this time of year one is surrounded by birdsong and quacks from ducks nesting on one’s doorstep! Quite literally.

A magnificent dining room, and a breakfast room with views to die for.

But on top of that, superb staff service! Caring, helpful, courteous. Just the best!

The building is so beautiful. I stayed in a single room. It was a good size with a large bathroom. It was warm and toasty. The breakfast was good, lots of choice, fresh and hot. |The view from the breakfast room is lovely. |A special thank you to Luke who very kindly found me a private room to hold a 4.5 hrs video call for my work on the day I checked out. The hotel was busy and I was extremely grateful that Luke could help me. I’ll be returning for sure as my daughter is studying in the area . Good car park and proximity to the lovely town centre makes this even better!

For a 3 Star hotel this somwhat quirky establishment punches above it's weight. Situated in the town of Hitchin, it is less than a five minute walk into the town centre. Historic architectural building during it's long life together with some careful blending has produced an interesting place to visit. I got a pleasent welcome at reception, which is just inside the main entrance and was directed to my room via a courtyard with a roof resembling the diamond shape glass building outside the Louvre in Paris, through to a possibly Georgian corridor to part of the original priory with Elizabethan style stairs, a vaulted ceiling and original walls. I had a double room which had everything I needed including an iron and ironing board in the wardrobe. Breakfast was served in a lovely Georgian room looking out through tall windows over parkland belonging to the hotel. A choice of Continental or tradition English was on offer. I chose the full English which was very tasty and well cooked. I loved my stay here, I send my thanks to the team behind the scenes and will definately be staying there again.

This is a good 3 star hotel , we had a family room ( 3 friends ) it was comfortable, beds fine , towels and toiletries provided. Tea and coffee facilities so all good . Parking there .|Bathroom in need of TLC but reflected in price . Location great , building impressive but could be so much better if money invested into it ! |Breakfast chaotic , not busy in restaurant but disorganised, no one in charge , running out of most hot food , Juice, pasties , hot water - had to ask for everything. Staff nice enough but someone needs to take charge .|Lots of improvements needed .

The access to the establishment is easy and the entrance is impressive.|The group of people standing outside smoking in a parking area were (as it turned out) the staff! , so not the best welcome as one of them in an overcoat dashed in to see to me. Bereft of a good morning or a smile! It was no surprise that the staff, although present at this reception did little interact with guests and assert their willingness to help. |For guests who had travelled far, there were no bar facilities in order to seek refreshment. ||For such a well placed establishment, full of potential , it’s strange that a basic hotelier strategy is not very apparent here.

The hotel is a 3 star just on the outskirts of the town centre so a great position with parking included. We had a family room which was roomy, well stocked with tea and coffee and a queen sized very comfortable bed. Bathroom was adequate with a great shower although decor was a bit tired and worn. The breakfast cereal and fruit / yoghurt was again adequate, but the cooked breakfast was first class...very tasty. Luke was very informative and helpful as were other staff members. As a 3 star hotel it is very good for the money so much so we have booked again for a future event.

Have stayed at The Hitchin Priory numerous times while working in England (for Boeing). The employees, staff and food is excellent. Can't say enough how good this place and the town is. The grounds are well kept and I can't say enough about the friendliness and helpfullness of the staff.
