This was such and incredible and intimate experience! I don’t think I could have dreamed up a better tour guide than Z. They were so knowledgeable and SO funny! Z allowed us to walk at our own pace (because stairs are hard 😆😆) and ensured that we were safe and cared for the whole time. I loved getting the opportunity to ask questions and take pictures and they just rolled with the punches!
I’m a local, and I learned so much history and had so much fun we will for sure be joining Z for another tour soon!
Thanks for making my friends birthday such a special time!!!

We like to travel to different cities, and do ghost tours in every one we go to. We were excited to go on this one, but boy, what a let down.

Upon arriving, we met Chris and his wife and thought they were going to be our tour guides for the tour. They had their Richmond Haunts shirts on, which made us believe that was the case. They were really nice people.

Two other couples joined us, and then a tall man did as well. We thought he was just a bystander at first, or maybe joining the tour with us, since he was dressed in normal casual clothes. Turned out he was the one taking us on the actual tour as our tour guide.

Jeffrey was his name. Chris introduced him to us all and then Chris and his wife left us with Jeffrey.

Now don't get me wrong. Jeffrey seems like a nice guy, and nothing against him, but the tour was terrible for a few reasons.

He's a tall guy. Before we even started walking, he said "I walk fast and I know it, but we'll be taking our time in a group and we'll go slow and move in a slow group".

Right off the bat, he was off and walking, and faster than anyone in our group. He was always at least 10 to 20 yards ahead of all of us. Now the walk to the Capitol Building is uphill. He didn't stop to check on anyone to see how we're doing. Once we got to the Capitol Building after walking uphill all the way there, there were a lot of stairs to get up to the Capitol Building. He didn't stop, after walking up the hill to get to the Capitol. One guy actually fell on the stairs going up, and he turned around and said "you good?". The guy said yes, but Jeffrey didn't stop. No, hey let's take a breather for a second.

I did manage to catch a weird light turning on and off in the building across from the Capitol Building, and wanted to share with the group, but guess what, Jeffrey was already gone.

The stories of haunting experiences were not told well. History was implemented, and was good, but it lacked the normal creepy haunting feel we normally get with any tour we take. He just doesn't have the knack of good ghost / haunting story telling.

Jeffrey also kept telling us about how he was an extra in movies. Not exactly sure why we needed to know that, but we got his personal stories.

At one point on the tour, he crossed the street, with the red hand sign displaying, as in not to cross, but he did. I had to pull my wife back because a car was coming, and not get hit.

Half way through we were almost on the verge of just walking back to our hotel, but we stuck it out.

The tour was supposed to end at 9 pm, but we got to the end of the tour at 845 pm. At the end, Jeffrey mentioned he didn't know what ghost hunting was all about and it wasn't his thing, which explained all we needed to know. I don't think this job is suited for him. A straight history tour, for sure yes, he'd be good. As for haunted tours, no.

With all the positive reviews, I'm sure this business will be fine. Not sure if we caught it on an off night or what, but if you're going to lead a tour, watch over your tour. Dress the part. At least a shirt with the Richmond Haunts logo. Don't be ahead of everyone by 20 yards of power walking. Don't make the tour feel rushed.

Tour was fun and insightful. Our tour guide Zoey was very energetic, knowledgeable and engaging with the group. Learned lots of new things and would definitely recommend this tour to others!

We had a great time with Haunt Team! So much of this city has a ghostly story to tell and they weaved the tales masterfully. I think the most provoking one is the Capital building itself. Being right there, you could picture that awful scene... I'd say more, but thats their job!! Go and have fun with these guys and be open to spirit world!!! There are shadows around every corner.😉

Marcia was our tour guide and she was absolutely amazing. Extremely friendly, bubbly personality and she’s animated in a good way. You can tell she really enjoys what she does. She’s truly fascinated by the history. There wasn’t a dull moment and when I come back I hope to get her for my tour guide again.

It was great! Jeffery was very knowledgeable tour guide with not only ghost but historical facts. Both aspects were interesting, should consider historical tour guide. 5 stars all around!

First time in Virginia- this was such a fun way to see some of Richmond. LOVED our tour guide, she was so funny and good at setting spooky mood. Would definitely go again, and to the other tours offered!!

Really fun! Our guide, Z, was knowledgeable, friendly, excited, patient and told amazing stories! It was very cool to learn about the history of Richmond through a spooky lense! Highly recommend!
