Had an appointment today at gynaecology clinic, all was good and staff were wonderful.
I then had to go over to pathology through main entrance of hospital. I have got to say this entrance was very shabby and looks uncared for in comparison. As you go in you realise the whole building looks like it needs a revamp. Chewing gum walked into the door matts, signage outside looks well past its sell by date and worn floors as you enter. I was shocked at how rundown it looks and unwelcoming. Surely it is well past time for a bit of a re-do.

Absolutely brilliant service from the AMU Team at Furness University Hospital. I was holidaying in the Lake District when I developed pneumonia and was advised to contact the above hospital without delay. I subsequently spent 3 days in the AMU being given multiple intravenous feeds of antibiotics. All the staff here were professional, caring and respectful, help was always at hand and no request was ever refused. And what a very hard working team of people!!! Morecambe Bay residents should be very proud of this hospital - the staff set a wonderful example to us all.

Accompanied my son to A&E today.
From reception to triage and then the treatment in minor injuries he received from the consultant.
The care he received was fab.
Been coming here for years and never had a bad experience!

I returned to Barrow last year after living in the SE for 40 years. My experience of the health service in Bedfordshire was dire.
I was very unwell last week and was advised by my GP to go to A&E. I was triaged very quickly and within an hour I was in a ward. I was diagnosed with sepsis and put on intravenous antibiotics and fluids straight away. I was transferred to Ward 7 the next day. Half the patients in the medical ward have Alzheimer’s which makes the nursing twice as difficult. The ward employs a sympathetic security guard to control patients that get out of hand. Jimmy reckoned he was in charge and kept insisting another door needed to be cut in the toilet wall. Another played loudly a country and western cd on a loop. I got it turned off at 1am.
All the staff cleaning, catering, auxiliaries and nurses were very professional. One auxiliary nurse had come in one hour unpaid early so she ‘could get everything together’.
Once my temperature was back down to normal I was taken to the discharge lounge so that my bed could be used asap.
The discharge lounge is like sitting in a cafe where you are provided with hot drinks and any meals you are due. Once your medication is sorted you are off. My whole visit had been handled very efficiently. From my experience people in the area should be proud of Furness General

We were holidaying in Cartmel at the beginning of July, when my husband started having bad pains due to his gallbladder. The ambulance arrived, and the paramedics were absolutely amazing, finding a vein for the canula first time in a moving vehicle! It always takes 2-3 times to find a vein when he's in hospital. Luckily, he only needed 1 night in hospital, but the service for those 19 hours were brilliant. I cannot praise the Paramedics, Doctor and nurses that cared for him enough. Also, going above and beyond, in caring for some of my needs also. Thank you so much

Extremely negligent, caused serious detriment to several family members, at least one of which could have proven fatal had we not noticed the most serious of a succession of errors. A CQC visit is required and interviews with patients/family members.
