Psychopathic head doctor in the ward, who loves to over dose patients. She has no compassion nor sympathy. She does not welcome questions from family members, rather sees them as intrusions on her agenda. She is not pleasant to deal with.
The junior doctors have no say, even if they see or understand that a higher dose is not necessary, they still are powerless to give their own input. Very helpful, good staff and we can’t fault them at all. This hospital made mistakes which delayed a patience's release and he continued to suffer unnecessarily for many more months by being locked up here. No healing takes place here, no therapeutical measures due to low budget. Quite depressing and absolutely awful food. The patients have to order take aways in order to survive. That's all hospitals like this though.

Full of agency ,Agency night staff terrible , always late giving meds , no proper help in there , overdosed in there , and told if I do that again I will be kicked out , was told by receptionist, she didn’t know what I was doing there , she was so rude to all patients treated them like 2nd class citizens, let me out after 6 weeks , left me homeless in the middle of the streets as I was no longer under there care , no follow up atall , dirty place absolutely filthy

They all took great care with my mum, she’s now home. Will forever be thankful to all the wonderful staff who helped and supported my mum. High secured place, but made to feel welcome at every booked visit with a lovely cup of tea! Nice to hear all the lovely activities they had in there, not sure what all the negative reviews are about, but I think it’s great there, with dedicated staff. Couldn’t ask for more, thanks again

We as family will be forever grateful for the patience, caring understanding ,that my dad received here ..also the added bonus all staff got dad well enough to return to his loving family 👪

I went to see a friend today who is currently staying at Amblescroft South. I was really surprised with the previous negative reviews left by others. The staff I've met were all amazing, very caring and helpful. My friend told me that everyone is polite, professional and respectful. She feels safe and well cared for. Thank you!

There are some amazing support staff, but are some are absolutely disgusting and made my conditions worse. The doctors and one HCA should be ashamed of themselves how they treat patients less than human. I have an array of PALS complaints processing with my CPN. There are lovely staff too, but I do not advise being admitted to this place unless you’re forced under section.

Absolutely diabolical. I now suffer with PTSD due to the way I was treated after losing my father. No questions were asked to me about why I had been admitted pr what I felt was wrong with me or what led to my section. I was labelled bipolar due to assumed behaviours when actually I was terrified of where I was being taken in a vunerable state and lack of communication by NHS staff and mental health staff contributed to about 10 years of social anxiety due to how I was treated here. I was scrubbed down in a shower accused of having nits with no warning. Another patient had come into my room, stolen my jewellery, had swapped my urine sample and written "Jesus" on my window. I told staff and they laughed and said I must be mistaken. None of my problems were taken seriously. Really if you have mental health problems then please never rely on places like this to help you!

Absolutely useless, pass you around and can't offer any support about anything even if someone is suicidal. They cancel appointments, forget patients when they're meant to phone them and if they ever rearrange it's weeks away. Private support even got recommended at one stage. Patients have to wait weeks for support to be told there's nothing they can do. They make individuals feel unimportant and abandoned and I feel like they forget they're actually working with at risk individuals who are relying on them as a last resort. I have never been more disappointed and angry towards an NHS service, they should be ashamed of themselves if they claim to help people. Even if there is a problem with funding it is no excuse to leave people in crisis.
