I attended the DIY wedding flower course at Balsham House this Saturday with my mum and sister. From the moment we arrived at Balsham House, we felt relaxed with Helen’s warm hospitality, excellent homemade carrot cake, and hot drinks on tap! We started by discussing wedding flower themes and how to plan palettes, as well as the key elements to making a bridal bouquet. We had a wonderful demonstration and were guided through making our own bouquets with an exquisite assortment of flowers, some picked from Helen’s own garden. The afternoon saw us making button hole flowers, and table pieces, again with step-by-step guidance. We all felt really accomplished and satisfied with our final pieces, all of which we could take home. Despite having no prior flower arranging experience, we had a lovely day and felt we’d gained some new skills! A relaxed pace, where we were made to feel like we could ask as many questions as we wanted during the day!

My friend and I attended a wedding floristry course on Wednesday. It was absolutely fantastic from booking to finishing our arrangements Helen exceeded our expectations. Quite simply it was the best course I’ve been on & with Helen’s guidance and reassurance I feel far more confident about making the bouquets, buttonholes & arrangements.
And ….the cake & coffee were delicious. Wish I could do it all over again!!

We went to Helen to learn how to do flowers for my wedding and we had so much fun! Helen is really knowledgeable and was able to give us loads of advice about which flowers to use, how to build up a perfect arrangement and on where to source flowers. We spent around 4 hours with her and all left with a small arrangement plus two walling hanging arrangements. Thank you Helen for a fabulous and really useful day! Definitely recommend to anyone that wants to learn about flower arranging or for help on wedding flowers.

Thank you Helen for a wonderful floristry day! I picked up some great tips for a forthcoming summer wedding I’m doing and definitely feel more confident and prepared now.
The small group (4) meant we all received plenty of individual attention and support with our floral projects. All equipment was supplied and the flowers were varied and beautiful to work with.
Helen made the most delicious carrot cake, refreshments were available all day and lunch of salmon, salad and new potatoes was delicious too.
I’d highly recommend this to any budding florists or anyone who wants a fun, inspiring experience with friends or family.

My daughter and I had a brilliant day at the DIY Wedding Flowers Workshop. Helen was so warm and welcoming and gave us lots of techniques and tips that were really helpful. We had so many flowers to play with - it was wonderful! She gave each of us, (there were 5 all together), plenty of individual advice and was full of inspiring ideas. Plus the food was simply delicious! I feel much better prepared now to do the flowers at my daughter's wedding. Thank you, Helen, for a fabulous day!

This was a fantastic day, I attended with my mum and sister with very little background knowledge of flower arranging.
Helen was a patient and inspiring teacher. She was very encouraging! We all made some very impressive bouquets and her helpful tips made it seem so easy!
There was nothing she didn't know about flowers and the food provided was delicious!!

What a wonderful day we had with Helen! I booked the DIY Wedding Flowers course for myself, my sisters, and my mum to help us grasp the basics ahead of doing the flowers for my wedding next year-but it went far beyond that. Helen really tailored it to what we were looking to create, and was such a lovely guide and support throughout. The fantastic homemade cake and lunch really topped off the experience!
Would highly recommend, even if you’re not planning your wedding!
