My daughter has been having singing lessons with Fran online and I've been so impressed with her progress.

Fran puts a real emphasis on the fun aspect of singing and how useful it can be for general wellbeing. The techniques Fran uses are easy to follow and her approach is calm, thoughtful and generous.

I asked my daughter to review her lessons and she wants you to know, "Fran is patient and kind and she really listens." I totally agree!! My daughter's confidence in her singing ability has grown since meeting with Fran and I can highly recommend her lessons.

Fran's Bring Your Own Baby choir on Wednesday mornings is my favourite parent-and-baby activity in Leeds by a long way! It's a unique opportunity to sing songs for adults (not nursery rhymes!) in a baby-friendly space with lots of toys: the babies get to play, interact and enjoy the music, while the parents can do something we enjoy too. The group is really welcoming and most people go for coffee/lunch afterwards, so it's a great way to find parent community. Fran is also a fun, patient teacher and arranges all our song requests in two-part harmonies which are easy to pick up and sound lovely. Would recommend to any new parent, regardless of whether you've sung before!

I absolutely love coming to this choir every week. With so much going on with work and childcare commitments it’s so nice to have something to do for myself.
It’s relaxed, fun and cathartic but at the same time you can learn a lot. Fran is so encouraging and helpful so everyone feels at ease and the whole group is supportive and encouraging.
It’s helped me meet a great group of people and has developed my confidence in singing so much. Couldn’t recommend enough, it’s a great community to be a part of!

My daughter and I love going to baby choir! Fran is so welcoming and it's a great space to catch up with other parents and carers. I'm not the most confident of singers but that really doesn't matter in this group. I have a great time singing the songs we choose! My daughter loves hanging out with the other babies and there are toys for her to play with too. Highlight of the week for us. Thanks Fran!

Fran is a wonderful choir leader, who welcomes everyone and their babies in an inviting and supportive atmosphere. I've loved bringing my baby boy to the sessions as we both get so much out of it. I get the benefits of singing in a group as he is exposed to wonderful music and other babies to interact with. It's also nice to be able to go and share a coffee and chat with the other parents once choir is over!

Love this choir! So laid back and welcoming. Fran is lovely and really good at leading the singing. You don't need to be great at singing but also if you are you'll enjoy it. We choose the songs ourselves, do some really fun ones and beautiful arrangements. There's usually a cafe trip afterwards and it's a really good way to get to know new people

As a professional singer I approached Empowered Sound as I wanted to increase the strength and sustainability of my voice to keep up with a busy gigging schedule. Fran showed me various techniques and exercises that I could practice regularly to develop durability in my voice, as well as increase my range and stamina. The sessions we had together gave me a greater understanding and connection to my voice, giving me more control and intention with my singing. Fran was always on hand to provide any advice and tips to make sure my voice felt as strong as possible going into busy gigging periods. I would highly recommend Empowered Sound and will definitely use them again for vocal coaching.

Fran's Empowered Sound choir is brilliant. Fran creates a safe and welcoming space in which I feel my confidence growing every week! I had barely sang in years and had completely lost my confidence and my voice, but after a few sessions with the choir I've performed in public with them! A few months ago I would have thought that impossible.

The choir attracts the loveliest and most supportive people, and I love coming every week to see everyone as well as sing. I always skip off in a wonderful mood and carry that positive energy into the week.

Fran puts so much work into creating beautiful arrangements of the songs we want to sing, and has a brilliant voice and lots of knowledge, insight and energy to guide us. I would absolutely recommend her as a teacher and the choir to everyone I know.
