Just after Christmas 2024 my mother in law (92 years old) was admitted after falling downstairs. After being assessed in A and E she spent two weeks in ward s12. I have to say she couldn't have had better care in any hospital, NHS or private. The staff, including doctors, caterers, nursing and support staff were so kind and attentive she was almost sorry to leave. Their kindness was almost overwhelming, such was the way they spent time to talk to her and ourselves about her road to recovery. Even after her discharge we had a call to a ask how she was, and about her journey home(she lives in Portsmouth) She feels this ward in this hospital was absolutely the best place for recovery, and we, her family, have to agree

Elderly dad in A&E overnight. Absolutely zero communication. Lovely nurse looking after him but neither him nor his family were told at any point what was happening until we made a point of asking someone. Called by telephone in the morning to get an update but A&E reception couldn’t get through by phone and didn’t offer to find out. It is literally 10 steps away! I have worked for the NHS for over 26 years and I’m sick of making excuses for poor care/communication/treatment. If you can’t be bothered, get another job. It’s tough, I know, but have some empathy, compassion and respect.

Attended M2 and the care provided by the midwives, drs and anaesthetist was next to non, I really couldn't have asked for a better more caring team to help me deliver my baby safely. Thank you to every one who helped the arrival of our Valentine's Day daughter and assisted with our care the following days.

Absolutely appalling treatment in a & e’s red room. My friend was sent to the hospital via the doctor with suspected pneumonia, and was finally told to sit in the red room. There was a queue to hand in the letter in a & e so I did that as my friend was too weak. She was then expected to sit in the red room for 18 hours before getting a bed in the cohort area. No food or drink offered in the red room. I went and asked if she could have a sandwich after about 7 hours but it never arrived! She was put on a drip and just left there to fend for herself. The hot drinks machine had no milk or cups or sugar plus it was filthy with discarded cups and stirrers. The staff seemed to deliberately not look at you as they knew how bad it was! We’ve had numerous apologies from other wards but a & e need to remember they are dealing with poorly human beings! It seems to me the receptionists and some of the nurses are desensitised. I have never seen such total lack of care. Yes they were short staffed but they could have given people blankets as it got cold in the night, and a hot drink! A dreadful experience.

I had an appointment at the gynaecology outpatient clinic for a colposcopy today, and I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for the outstanding experience I had. From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming and attentive, making me feel comfortable and at ease. The care I received throughout the procedure was exceptional, and I truly appreciated the professionalism and compassion of everyone involved. A special thanks to Sally and her team for their dedication and support. Your hard work and professionalism made a significant difference in my visit. Thank you 🙏🏽😘

I'm not sure where else to put this, but I would just like to say a massive thank you to the wonderful lady on the help desk in the main building for her help when my husband was taken ill in the Costa there, on 20th Feb. I'm not sure what I would have done if she hadn't been there to alert the staff on ward 16 for me and to assist me in getting him up to the ward. Such an amazing lady, Thank you.

Admitted on Aug 24th, spent a week in there, most of the staff are hugely overworked, ambulances were waiting outside because of a lack of beds. The staff were working frantically all night trying to juggle poorly people, but beds don’t free up as they’d like due to social care.
Have to say the food was amazingly good for the budget and always a great choice. When I’m recovered I will return to my ward to show my appreciation for their hard work 👍

An absolute joke of a hospital. Only had 2 visits and from my first appointment straight away realised there is absolute no way I will be giving birth there. Appointment was at 8:30 eventually walked out at 12 PM as I still haven't been seen. How an earth do they run so behind. Waiting room was packed to the point people where standing. There is not a single person you can ask about ETA. Are people supposed to wait 4+ hours to be seen? Staff are rude and full of attitude especially the blonde hair lady in ultrasound. Everyone seems to work in slow motion. Both visit has always felt hectic and stressful for no reason. From my first appointment after 2 hours wait to see the doctor I quickly realised what a waste time it was as they just read off a piece paper which you could have done yourself and add no value what so ever. You wait so long for a 60 seconds consultation.
