We had an amazing time here for Valentine's weekend. Every single member of staff we spoke to from the reception staff, bar staff and breakfast staff were awesome. We didn't eat in the restaurant of an evening but we had breakfasts on both days and what we had was delicious. John the manager was lovely and his support team were excellent.|The hotel itself is just so beautiful, the grounds are amazing. We took a little walk in the evening. We thoroughly enjoyed cocktails in the grand hall and we got another wonderful member of staff to add a couple more logs to the fire :-)|We went to the spa/pool at 7am on the Saturday morning and had the place to ourselves which was incredible.|Shout out to the hardworking cleaning staff too- they were thorough and friendly.|The super king size bed in our room was probably one of the comfiest we have ever slept in- the sheets and pillows were soft. We loved it!|The only reason I have given 4 stars and not 5 is a little 'penny pinching' with the room facilities/amenities in comparison to the price paid. As examples, 1 pack of biscuits for 2 people and even this wasn't replaced on the 2nd day. Bottles of water also not replaced on the 2nd day. Had better tea/coffee tray in a basic hotel! We were expecting either a balcony or 4 poster bed, we booked a deluxe room (view was phenomenal), we got neither. We aren't complainers and I looked online at the list of facilities and it adds 'subject to availability' qualifier on the room description, so not much we could do.....just felt a little misleading to us? |However, we would return in a heartbeat and probably will for next valentines weekend!

Recently went to Danesfield House for dinner with friends, which was a birthday treat. We had read the Muddy stilletos review of The Oak Room tasting menu so desperately wanted to try this and were not disappointed! We had a lovely welcome into the hotel and were quickly shown to our table in The Oak Room which is a beautiful panelled room. We were introduced to the host Lisa and she made sure we were all comfortable. The courses started off with "snacks" which were an amazing array of different small bits of food and specialised breads and butters. Each course from then on was brought out by either the Exec chef Matt or the Sous Chef David which added a a sense of occasion and an opportunity to quiz them about the dishes. All of the dishes we had were exquisite and individually different, we all had a really hard time deciding on a favourite course. I lost count of how many courses there were but I think we were at the venue at least 2.5 hours and did not feel rushed at all. Having been to tasting menus at different venues before I cannot fault this one. We enjoyed every dish and had fun trying to guess how they made some of the dishes! Highly recommend this for a destination dinner or if you are planning a visit to the hotel then definitely see if you can upgrade from the normal dinner menu!

Stayed here for a belated Valentine's treat and we absolutely loved it!|From the moment we arrived we were complimentary upgraded to a suite and shown to our room by a lovely concierge. |The suite was absolutely beautiful. It had a king size TV bed, rain shower, mood lighting and bath. 10/10. Temperature was perfect and the bed was very comfortable. We were absolutely delighted.|We immediately made the most of the spa facilities which were quiet, calming, warm and very enjoyable. Again the staff Sally & Sante were absolutely fantastic at the spa and made our mornings with friendly smiles and chat! The spa coffee was fantastic and brought to our beds. |Marginally dated locker room & poolside in need of some love - but this didn't effect the stay at all! |Our evening meal was absolutely exceptional. We had the three course set dinner menu and each was a delight to eat. Staff were very friendly and professional and we could not fault our evening|We also enjoyed the lovely cocktail bar with again friendly staff. |Our morning breakfast also did not disappoint. Excellent food and service! |The grounds are beautiful and the building feels luxurious yet old and historic. |Overall a real special treat for my fiance and I, and we are so glad we went. ||My only niggle was the tea & coffee tray was skimpier than a Travelodge - one coffee , two teas and two milks for us both didn't last long!!

We arrived and check in was quick. Got sent to our room on first floor. No lift so had to bring our luggage up ourselves two flights of stairs. Room was lovely and big. A suite duplex so had a large bathroom then up to a large bedroom which overlooked the entrance of the hotel. So that was quite noisy early in mornings. |The room had two small bottles of water in the mini bar and nothing else. This wasn’t replenished once through a three day stay. |The glasses we used to drink that water were not washed or replaced once either. |The toiletries are unbranded and poor quality and blobby not the consistency of shampoos or body wash. And seemed cheap and horrible. |Felt very disappointed as the room rate of just under £500 per night you’d expect some luxury. The entire place felt rundown and unloved. Really disappointed as stayed in hotels half the price and had water every day and nicer toiletries. Play breakfast at £25 for avocado on toast seemed ridiculous. |Wouldn’t stay again.

From the moment we arrived at Danesfield House, we were treated extremely well. All of the staff were very helpful and could not do enough for us, even carrying our luggage to our room. Our room had a beautiful view over the river Thames and hotel gardens and the four poster bed was lovely and comfortable. The bathroom was lovely and clean and their were plenty of towels and toiletries. I had booked a treatment in the Spa for my wife and all of the staff were amazing. The Spa itself was very nice, and although the jacuzzi was out of action, this did not spoil the experience at all. Finally, our breakfast was wonderful. We were greeted and shown to our seats immediately. Our order was taken for our choice of breakfast by a lovely waitress and coffee and toast was brought to us by an absolutely wonderful waiter who had the biggest smile that never left his face the entire time we were in the restaurant. He was extremely polite and just made you smile with his infectious enthusiasm for the "fabulous filter coffee" and the "terrific toast" (his words, not mine) that he served us. I just wish I had his name to include with this review as he deserves a special mention.Overall it was a fantastic experience and the right choice of hotel to celebrate my wife's birthday. We will definitely be coming back.

It was set on nice quiet location with fresh breeze around. Inside the room was quite nice. Had a separate dining area with all the necessities available. The dining area (indoor) could have been better. The overall decor was nice with different lobbies. Room service prices were overly expensive. I guess that might be a usual thing if hotels ideally need to be re considered. One club sandwich was over £16 with a really small portion of chips. I ordered separate chips for over £5 which had about 7( fat ones) sticks of chips.
The hotel didn't pay attention at all on the outside of the building as it looked in a very bad state. In the beginning, it really made me disappointed and worried when I looked at the interior of the building. It was in a bad state. At least they can paint the building, that would be a good idea.
Spa was OK.

A disappointing failure that was revealed on our arrival was satisfactorily and pleasantly resolved by Management and this, together with a lovely and helpful team of hotel and restaurant staff resulted in a very happy stay. Food was quite good and breakfast particularly so, assisted by a flexible approach to modest requests and very good coffee options that puts more polished hotels to shame. The gym/spa is pretty good and the hotel grounds well maintained and lovely. Rooms and common areas could be considered dated but contributes to the character.

A stunning country hotel, set in landscaped gardens.||The lounges, dining rooms and main hall are absolutely beautiful.||An impressive pool, gym and spa, which everyone enjoyed.||Everyone was very happy with their rooms. Not contemporary, but comfortable and spotless, if a little chilly.||Breakfast was fantastic, but dinner, although delicious, was served on cold plates! As it was a friend's birthday we didn't complain, but when I mentioned it at checkout, reception didn't really grasp why that would be an issue on a frosty February night 🙄.||Also we corrected our misspelt surname at check-in, but when they left our checkout bill, they'd left our name misspelt. ||Overall, we all had a enjoyable stay and would return for a special occasion.
