Hi i am Kym Moss and i am currently on Crystal Ward, and it is filthy dirty! Me, even though I'm the patient, have on numerous occasions have had to empty the sanitary bins in two of the bathrooms! And unblock two of the shower plug holes removing hair from the drains! I've also went two nights without any bedding due to there being none on ward. There are flies all over the place even the kitchen n dining area.

I was admitted on the 8th of January under a section 2 and discharged the same day as my admission by Helen who has no power in whether I get discharged or not. I was forcablely dragged to my room by two male staff members who threw me on the bed and hit me several times in the head. They had to call the police to remove me from the premises.

I was readmitted to Crystal ward on the 31st of January where they refused to check my items in until night staff arrived as they were 'quote-end-quote' too busy to admit me as they all scoffed biscuits in the office laughing and joking about life.

Staff regularly man handle, berate and use illegal manuovers to restrain clients.

Clients who show SIBS are disregarded and left to their own devices whilst staff sit in the main living room watching TV.

Dr Kurt is the most pompous, unprofessional, least caring and most uneducated practioner I have ever met. He discharged me simply because I was not meeting citron for admission and when I asked him to further explain this he could not Claire Fowler is an embarrassment to the NHS taking the side of Dr Kurt and stating that 'not meeting the citron' is a valid enough excuse to discharge someone.

Staff are not trained in defusing situations and example of this is Kenny, who told a suicidal patient in a wheel chair to get up and walk. Which lead her to lash out and he continued to follow her grab her wheelchair and antagonise her. THIS IS ABUSE.

The same patient attempted suicide 3x in the same day, no calls to 999 or 72 hour psychiatric hold in hospital for further assessment. One of the health care assessment refused to sweep her mouth in case she bit her. The same women incorrectly did back slaps bruising the entirety of her back bruised.

They are extremely intrusive when doing observations, they sit in chairs outside our rooms when we have them in our own rooms.

All staff need investigatin.

No activities. No psychology. No drugs support

I was admitted on the 30th under a section 2 and am currently writing this whilst still in the ward. This place genuinely needs to be shut down, not only is it incredibly understaffed but there seems to be no actual procedure for when incidents occur. Some staff will verbally abuse you whilst you’re breaking down mentally. The building itself is disgusting with flies everywhere due to the over flowing sanitary bins. This place has no therapy aside from an occupational therapist who doesn’t follow the set timetable and rarely shows all they do is lottery pick medication for you,if you show any sign of emotion they’ll “prn” you with sedatives. Again, please please please shut this ward down for the safety of everyone.

Being denied basic human rights like feminine hygiene care when needed, being told I'm childish and selfish and putting a hand right in my face. And being dragged down off a wall, even though policy says to let me jump down and then assist me so I don't bump my head. I'm not covered in horrid bruises and grazes. Been IMed 8 times in 3 days, yet no extra support in place when I'm in distress. And being told im not allowed to go to church was the last straw. We are going to the papers about this. Needs shutting down!

I spent time on Crystal Ward before and I hated it. Worst experience ever. But, this time round I was surrounded by staff that care and would never hesitate to help or give their time to me for 1-1 sessions or something as simple as a smile. The manager of Crystal Ward is a legend and I can’t even name the amount of staff who had a huge positive impact on me during my time there. The only reason I’m not giving a 5 is because the hygiene isn’t the one. But the staff are.

This ward is vile. I will never recover from my time there. The main doctor treated me like rubbish and made me feel worthless. They pressure vulnerable into taking medication that does more damage then good. Hardly any activities to keep people busy or emotional support.

This time round most of the staff are lovely including Darcy and Maria & some bank staff are kind and caring however I came a year ago and it wasn’t as pleasant but it has changed a lot from my admission a couple of years ago!
