I would like to offer my sincere review for the crisis team that has supported me throughout my challenges. They have been incredibly attentive, always listening carefully to my concerns, offering thoughtful advice, and making every effort to assist me to the best of their ability. Their professionalism and compassion have been evident in all of my interactions with them. I feel truly supported, and their guidance has been invaluable.
While I canāt speak for othersā experiences, my experience with the crisis team has been exceptionalāfar beyond the standard five stars. I am genuinely grateful for their continuous efforts, and I commend their dedication to helping individuals in crisis. They are a team that genuinely cares about their patientsā well-being and provides real, meaningful support.

I could not be more grateful for this team of workers. Itās been just over a year since we had the help from the crisis team and if it wasnāt for them I donāt think I would have the happy and healthy family I have today. I donāt think Iād be able to thank them enough for their help.
Everyone we saw was friendly and professional and they really made sure we were looked after at such a vulnerable time.
The negative reviews I see are such a shame from people who seemingly want someone else to blame for their hard times which I understand, but they should not be directed towards such helpful and caring people.

I'm sorry to say that crisis team were not helpful to me. I've rang my GP and they told me to ring 111 and select the crisis team in Gloucester. After ringing the crisis team and being somewhat distressed due to mental health problems which got the better of me that day, the lady on the phone told me that it's best my GP deals with me as they didn't want to "complicate the matters" by getting involved in my care and that's its best to have a single provider. This is the third time I've looked for help from the crisis team in my lowest moments over the period of ten years and every single time I've been told that they can't help me. Two stars due to the lady on the phone not being necessarily rude, just not really helpful. Felt really sad, disappointed and hopeless. I won't ring again.

Absolutely awful service.
Staff shout, talk over you donāt listen to what youāre saying then make accusations towards you! Unbelievable. Sadly had to result in 999 being called.
Formal Complaint will Be made to NHS. Calls recorded too.

Notably, Stroud and Cirencester crisis team but including the wider crisis service:
Manipulative. Coercive. Bullying. Hostile. Callous. Cold. Lazy. Judgemental. Overt personal dislike, impatience and gossip. Unprofessional. Emotionally abusive. Yes. Abusive.
Edit 29.12.24
Since changing it up and putting calls into a call centre, services are worse. Exclusive. The call handlers are a filter...non clinicians with no idea deciding who gets real help. It's only a helpline. Better using a genuine helpline such as samaritans who xare and don't judge. And give better help. People are dying out here. Where do we go?

Rude staff always picking up the phone, rude to people helping me, I donāt think thereās anything good, honestly. went here for a section and there was staff laughing at me. Not only that but I was told by someone that they have to be strict on me because thatās what my community team want, I asked my community team and they said that they never said that. Dishonest nurses who treat you horribly for no reason and say theyāre allowed to. Sickening abuse of power to a vulnerable person.
Mental health services are appalling and need to change.

Firstly, it definitely depends on the professionals you see. There are a couple of mental health nurses at this service that are absolutely excellent, but as a whole the large majority are appalling. They turn up 2 hours late having not read any notes so literally have NO IDEA why they are seeing you- one was like 'why didn't you pick up your medication' and I said 'because I was sectioned for a month in hospital' and then she was like 'oh I didn't look at your notes'. So they have no idea about their patients, and nor do they care about their patients.
After turning up 2 hours late, they left after 5 minutes because I 'obviously didn't want to see them'. In this sense they have no understanding of depression or anxiety or trauma and how it can be difficult to open up to people.
Despite being prescribed medication from 2 psychiatrist, the crisis team are unable to actually bring me my medication and have been telling me every day that they'll bring it the next day. So despite being on medication for 5 years I have not been able to take it since leaving hospital a week ago because the team won't bring it to me.
Largely this team are dismissive and don't care. I am meant to be with them for 2 weeks but I am self-discharging after a week due to their ineptitude.

I have never come across a service that is suppose to be there to support people so awful, Gloucester mental health service is the worst I've ever come across. They pass you from pillar to post not really having any clue what they are doing and make matters 100 times worse. It's no wonder mental health and suicide is on the increase with such a shocking service
And to top that . You are called a crisis team for that reason I believe. So when ones calling in a crisis you get a voicemail. ( pointless )) I'm at break8ng.poijt and if I want to leave voicemails I wouldn't be calling a CRISIS TEAM, ( THATS A JOKE . NEVER BEEN THERE OR AVALIABLE IN A CRISIS .
