Like most, if not all NHS Trusts, I had a very long wait to get help with my mental health. From initial referral to first assessment appointment I waited 5.5 months. My initial appointment was an hour long zoom assessment. The assessment was fantastic and the practitioner was empathetic, listened intently and was very thorough. The time between this initial appointment and my appointment with the psychiatrist was 6 weeks. My consultation with the psychiatrist was absolutely wonderful. After decades of poor mental health I finally had a solid diagnosis. The clinician treated me without judgement. She provided treatment options, and allowed me to choose what I wanted. Being given a choice not just told what to do was really helpful. I All in all I was treated by several members of staff and can’t say a bad thing about any of them! Yes, the wait was very long and honestly some days it was really hard to be patient and feel like people cared how I was feeling, however the actually treatment that has been provided by this team has been fantastic. All staff I’ve interacted with have been empathetic, friendly and listened to me. I had several breakdowns while waiting for an appointment and found the crisis team (which you can ring 24 hours a day) to be great at calming me down. I’ve been let down by other trusts so was very worried this would happen again but this has not been the case. It’s very sad that the Tory government allowed the NHS to deteriorate to such an extent. I have the greatest sympathies for the staff and their overwhelming workload and am so appreciative of socialised healthcare-having lived in the USA I hope the NHS stays around for a long time.

Lots of people need to access the service but there is not enough staff these days. Staff are professional and likeable. There are outreach clinics which are essential around rural areas making it accessible for everyone. Penrith hospital base is very welcoming and makes you feel calm and safe. Excellent service under a lot of pressure.

Barred throughout the country because this place wrote malicious notes on my file covering up their own lies and incompetence whilst informing the NHS I don't require help.

Their psychiatrist Dr Prosser must be a liar according to the CPN's which will lie through their teeth not to attend your appointments.

Avoid if you can - You WILL get worse. Their staff are priority #1, 2 and 3.

Literally do nothing to help you at all, every person I've spoke to who has attended here has never had any experience of help, rather discharge you to tick a box then help you.
