We started our day with a brilliant yoga class and then had some breakfast snacks which were fab; croissants, fresh fruit, mini granola pots and juice. We then enjoyed looking round the boutiques before going for our treatments. I had an excellent massage with Mia and who was very attentive and her pressure was perfect. Lunch was lovely, lots of things to choose from at the buffet. As it was such a gorgeous day, we headed outside and dipped in the jacuzzi before relaxing on some comfy loungers. We also enjoyed the thalassotherapy pool and steam room. We had a some lovely cake and Louise in the cafe delivered top class service. All in all an absolutely perfect birthday treat for my best friend!

Appalling from start to finish!
We visited for my birthday this weekend just gone. Before we even got into our room we had to trek back to reception to get our key card working properly.
The room was run down and below average for the price we paid. Mouldy tiles, no shower gel in the shower, rotten door, no iron. No charging next to the bed.
My partner was refused a hot drink (additional purchases of £4.25) in the Terrace cafe. Staff allowed him to stand there, looked at him and then their phone, had a conversation with colleague before saying they were no longer serving due to closing 5.55pm. When I arrived at 5.30 the cakes were already removed from display and it took 15 minutes to receive my coffee. Extremely rude.
The hotel did not inform guests that they were filming on Sunday 23rd March so we were woken up by a film crew outside our bedroom window popping champagne. Spa facilities were not accessible until 10am due to this which was frustrating as we had paid to use the facilities from 6.30am.
Hotel staff said this had been booked last minute and we had to explain this is unethical as guests were not given information to consent to being captured in robes by the film crew who were everywhere-- no information about if or how images of guests will be used provided.
At breakfast we were seated and then told off for taking pastries (apparently only for day guests) when there was no clear sign or instruction given. These were also not available on the overnight guest breakfast however mackerel, onion and chillies were? Hotel staff said they were changing to a healthier menu, despite serving cakes etc in the café?
After discussing this with the female manager in the dining area, I was told that it was receptions job to inform me of what area of the buffet I could eat from. Very rude and uncaring manner and being chastised in front of fellow guests at breakfast was not the start to my birthday I had hoped for.
By the time we could access the spa due to overcrowding at 1pm the lockers in female changing were all broken despite us having to checkout at 11am and needing to store valuables. Had to visit reception twice to get support for this which was incredibly frustrating.
I left here feeling more stressed than when I arrived.
Absolutely appalling service and facitilies with guests being short changed out of their package to prioritise filming for a dating show.
Avoid and spend your money elsewhere.

Another visit to Champneys Tring, I looked forward to arrival as the house and setting are wonderful. All in all, I wasn’t disappointed!||The team were friendly from the moment we arrived, we were quickly checked in and made our way to our room. ||We got settled in and went to have a walk around. We met Zoe who was incredibly friendly and spent some time talking to us about our stay. ||As always, the sauna and steam room were luscious and made for a relaxing time. The weather was good enough to use the outdoor hot tub. We had a really chilled time. ||We went back to the room and found a couple of things weren’t perfect, we checked in with the reception team and were looked after by Agnes who got things sorted for me. Zoe was nearby and checked if anything else was needed. Both of them were great and we were moved to another room where everything was perfect. ||The food was great as always (hence the attached pictures!), it arrived quickly and was delicious. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner each day and were not disappointed. At breakfast we met Josh who was cooking up fresh omelettes, he was cheery (despite the time of day!) and remembered us each morning. ||We had a great stay and will be back again soon.

This was our second visit within a year after a disappointing first visit.. and it was definitely an improvement on first time. ||There’s no denying that the rooms are tired and facilities are a bit grubby and rundown but nothing that a bit of investment and maintenance would sort out. ||The overall experience however is really special and you are made to feel like VIPs when you stay at Champneys.||The staff are really friendly and can’t do enough for you. We would love to give a shout out to Joy who is super lovely she gave an exceptional massage experience. ||The outdoor jacuzzi was a lot of fun, especially when it’s cold outside. ||I especially loved the dinner! All 3 courses I ordered were delicious and the restaurant staff are super friendly! ||Breakfast was not for me as was all a bit healthy but I guess it has to be for a health spa, lunch was good and there was a lot of choice on offer.||Overall this experience was a huge improvement on the first visit and we would return again in the future.

I booked a spa weekend at trying and had the most relaxing time. I had my facial done by Lindsey and it was one of the best facials I have ever had. The face massage was so relaxing. I would highly recommend Lindsey if anyone books a facial at trying champneys.
Natasha did a massage treatment for me which was amazing too. She was very good and I definitely felt relaxed after that

Had a really nice day at Champneys Tring with my wife. We used the sauna and steam room and did a stretch and relax class. The cafe is a lovely place to spend some time relaxing with a coffee. Louise was very pleasant and smiley and Zoe was super efficient and friendly.. They were extremely busy but both ladies found a minute to chat and it really made our day. We will be back very soon!

I’ve been a member of Champneys for a while now and love the variety of classes on offer, but have always avoided the gym. Being a woman of a certain age, I wanted to work on my strength and Gemma, from the Fitness Team, was great at talking me through the various weight training machines, ensuring I’m comfortable and using the equipment properly. Gemma’s so friendly and helpful and clearly loves what she does, passing on her passion for fitness to others. ||She’s given me the confidence to start on a journey of building and maintaining my strength while enjoying the other classes Champneys has to offer.||Thank you Gemma for being such a great instructor, I’m loving my new fitness journey.

I took my mum for a 1 night spa break at tring this week and was disappointed with what is meant to be a luxury retreat is average at best.

Firstly when we checked in, were given no orientation of the facility, we were not shown to our room and the instructions given to find it were extremely vague, as well as this were given no information about meal times other than evening dinner or where to go for the treatments we booked.

The spa facilities themselves were minimal; one small spa pool with a variety of jets, two hot tub (one inside/one outside), they also have sauna and stem room which were smaller than you’d get in the average gym. On top of this the stem room was broken on Friday (22/02/25) therefore could not be used. Further, many of the towels had brown stains on (see photo) and there was not enough beds in the spa area for the guest capacity, nor was there enough tables in the cafe at peak times.

The bedrooms, particularly the bathroom were tired the tiles/grouting were a mess, like scale on the tapes/shower and the side of the bath just seemed to be glued back on. The corridors leading to the bedrooms were run down, with many marked walls, as well as a whole in one of them. The overall cleanliness of the facility was poor, lots of dust on lamp shades, dirt of stairways leading to bedrooms and to top it off the changing rooms were filthy.

Other than that the gym/fitness facilities were great, restaurant staff were friendly and attentive and food was amazing. My mum enjoy a lovely back, neck and shoulder massage.

I’m glad I booked on the Black Friday deal as it certainly wasn’t worth the full price.
