I had an amazing day on Saturday learning to make a Sewn Boards book. I made a book from scratch with the lovely Hope. Very satisfying 🧡 A great, friendly, encouraging atmosphere, fabulous teaching, yummy lunch and thouroughly lovely gift. Highly recommend for anyone with any interest in crafting and making. I have just attended a 45 minute bookbinding taster workshop. It was great fun and Hope is an excellent tutor. It has whetted my appetite to have a go at another workshop in the future. The lesson was paced perfectly and help was always on hand for any tricky techniques. My efforts were encouraging!
I bought a lovely handmade book for my sister while I was there, considering how much labour goes into making these beautiful books, I thought it was very reasonably priced.
I'll be back!

I have just done my second workshop with Hope. Once again it was really amazing - sometimes not easy, challenging even! We made a ‘clam box’ and she was so patient with the four of us, always there to make sure we knew what we were doing and patiently explaining the method/instructions. I went home with a fabulous box that I shall treasure forever. And I will definitely be back for another workshop before too long! Thank you.

Attended a custom workshop to make a sewn board binding.
Had a go at trimming my text block using a proper set-up. So much easier and a much nicer finish to my DIY attempts at home.

We shared a delightful day at the Alexander Centre with Hope making marbled paper clamshell boxes. She is a truly inspirational teacher, warm, friendly, very patient and full of enthusiasm. Wonderful workshop - really enjoyable and Hope is such a good teacher. I came away having learnt lots and amazed at the beautiful notebooks I had managed to make with Hope's help and guidance. I would really recommend Bindfulness workshops - even if you are a complete beginner and think you aren't a practical person, you will come away having made something lovely - I certainly did!
