I cannot recommend The Reptile Academy highly enough! My daughter has recently part of their ASDAN course for home education students and it has been brilliant. Jake and Gary have made my daughter feel confident in her abilities and her confidence has soared. The academy hosts a wide range of reptiles who are all very well cared for and both of the guys are extremely knowledgeable. They also host a variety of hands-on ‘experience’ days for children and families and are extremely sympathetic and understanding of all abilities. If your kids like reptiles, you must check them out!!

It's a fantastic experience for all ages. The reptile academy is clearly very ethical and puts the welfare of its reptiles first, which is lovely to see.

This isn't a zoo. It is a smaller but personal experience and in my opinion, much better for it.

We opted for the guided tour and the hands on experience. Gary was our guide and was knowledgeable and charismatic. The whole thing was very good value.

If you are looking for an educational, engaging and fun activity to do with friends or family, book a slot in at the reptile academy and you won't be disappointed.

We loved our time at The Reptile Academy, everyone was really friendly and extremely knowledgeable. We got very lucky and were the only people booked in on our time slot and we were shown around by our amazing guide who taught us all about the incredible reptiles they have and we even got to feed a couple! I can’t recommend this place enough, it really is a hidden gem for any reptile lover and it’s a place where you can tell that they really care and are passionate about their reptiles.

I recently spent a six week block visiting The Reptile Academy with a group of students from my school. The team there were so knowledgeable, patient and attentive towards the children, who thoroughly enjoyed the sessions. A mixture of informative talks, tours of the centre and handling experiences, I really can’t recommend enough. I will be taking my own children for a session over half term and hope to visit again with students next year.

This is an absolutely brilliant day out for adults and children (8+). The team are incredibly knowledgeable and full of interesting facts. We also had the handling session booked afterwards which was equally enjoyable. It was very clear that the wellbeing of the animals is the most important thing. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone with an interest in reptiles and animals.

I’m a veterinary student who attended a week long residential and had one of the best experiences of my life. As a life long animal lover, I was beyond excited to meet and learn about these incredible creatures and I was not disappointed!!!!

From an enormous Burmese Python to a tiny delicate tree frog, I was taught how to appropriately and safely handle and care for a huge range of fantastic reptiles and amphibians, including animals I’d never even heard of. Each and every creature has its own individual story, personality and requirements, which are all met to a very high standard.

The centre goes above and beyond in terms of animal welfare, with massive vivariums, fresh & natural feed and regular enrichment for its residents.

This is, of course, all thanks to the incredible people who run the Reptile Academy.

Jake and Garry are great teachers and their infectious enthusiasm and passion for their animals is unrivalled, as is their depth of knowlage. They were also very conscientious when it comes to people who experience fear around these species - taking the time help others work towards overcoming any phobias at their own pace.

A truly unique and valuable experience that has ignited a new passion within me for these fantastic creatures and opened my eyes to some of the major welfare and health issues facing our cold blooded friends.

We have just had an excellent experience at The Reptile Academy for a 9th birthday. We chose the 6 hour family VIP experience day and it was even better than we could have hoped for. Knowledgable, friendly, fun staff who were great with children. Great value for money - endless opportunities for handling and feeding. The animals are cared for incredibly well and the staff and volunteers are keen to share their knowledge and passion with others. We would really recommend this experience for anyone who loves animals

Spent a day at The Reptile Academy - General admission (3 hours) plus family experience (1 hour) - as a birthday present from my husband. We had the BEST time! We got to hold lots of the animals, and we learnt a lot of interesting information from the enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend this place - They are fantastic with children, but I can confirm that this is a great day out for big-kids too!
